Flamenco and Ballet Dance School Maria Osende

Maria is a great teacher. I have done both online ballet classes and flamenco ( in person) with her. She is full of fun and positive vibes. She knows how to make learning fun. You never feel rushed or as if you're going to too fast to learn and remember. I highly recommend her classes and she is great with all ages too!

Great class!Beautiful choreography!! Fabulous.The only suggestion I could possibly make would be the wish to have two classes per week for any level taken.

Let's dance Flamenco with Maria. I went to try out Maria's absolute beginner's class about 3 years ago wuth a friend just to try out for a day and see if it's the kind of class I would like. That first day in that class I fell in love with the instructor yes Maria and ofcourse that one hour class of Flamenco Dance my mind was transported elsewhere, watching Maria teach us faster paced Spanish flamenco, with it's hand clapping and foot stomping just charged me and I was drawn in! I am hooked now, I feel a sense of belonging in the class, it is one of my healthy activity. When our class performed to an audience , i was so proud of our group, felt really good. So join Maria's Dance School and set your inner child free and dance like no one is watching.

I only attended the first three sessions. Despite practicing a lot, my feet were not learning even the simple movements.I accept that there are some things I am not cut out to do.

This has been such an exciting experience - we learned two very different choreographies just this term and even though I am very new to dance, Maria made learning incredibly fun, with just the right amount of challenge. Being part of the flamenco class has been so rewarding - thanks Maria!

I have been a flamenco student of Maria Osende's for at least five 5 years now - and i plan on being on for many more years! She is an incredible teacher and dancer - her passion shines through. Classes are fun and I love learning a new routine/type of flamenco each semester/year. Maria's choreography is unique, memorable and fitting for each class level. I've been a student of Maria's for 3 years (ballet). I think she's an amazing teacher. She has the right amount of rigour -- you feel like you're learning how to do things properly even if you can't do them (yet). But she also makes the classes fun and enjoyable. I also feel like she takes us seriously as students. She appreciates our desire to really learn, and does all she can to make that happen. Maybe the best thing of all is having a teacher of the calibre of dancer that Maria is. Watching her demo a step or chain of steps is a privilege. It's inspiring. I feel exceptionally fortunate to have Maria as a teacher.

I’ve taken classes with Maria for many years at all levels! She is such a knowledgeable and experienced dancer and teacher! We are so lucky to have an artist of her caliber here in Halifax! Her school offers so many different classes and opportunities to perform. Flamenco has been my doorway to self-esteem, physical strength and a fun community of people from all generations and parts of the world!
