On a Sunday afternoon the service was great, the sangria was delicious, and the food was awesome. I’ve looked at many of the other reviews and I have to say, if you’re looking to be coddled this is not the place for you. You get what you ask for, the staff is pleasant but also very busy so does not have time for nonsense, so check your expectations and you’ll enjoy this place. I’m very happy we decided to visit Mercado and hope to be back again soon.

Great environment. Food is normal, maybe I haven’t try the seafood plate. My octopus was bitter , maybe over cooked or too much charcoal not sure. I told chef, he is nice to made us a new one , and it taste much better. Overall good experience, we were very full so didn’t have the desserts but they look so so nice. Maybe next time to order for sure.

Today, we can reserve the table and are glad to visit this long waited lunch here. We decided to go for all Tapas instead of any main dishes. The tapas have distinctive characters, all the seafood tapas are made by very fresh ingredients and large size. The taste and presentation are so nice. The White Sangria is the unorthodox and enjoyable Sangria. The dessert “Bolo Bolacha” is a very good decision and provide a perfect ending of the whole meal. We will definitely visit in the near future!

I was very pleasantly surprised and will be coming back soon!Definitely felt authentic Portuguese. I would even go so far in saying that the quality and taste is better than my experience dining in Portugal.Service was warm and accommodating. Decor was tasteful and clean.I would love to see an online booking system or a more reliable phone booking system.

An exquisite Portuguese dining experience! My partner and I ordered the Beira Mar board with a side of fries. It’s enough food to feed for 3-4 people! All of the meat and fish options were fresh and delicious. We really enjoyed the white sangria, coffee, and desserts as well. The washrooms are interesting but you’ll have to visit to see why. Would highly recommend for a special occasion.

First time at Mercado and certainly not the last. Everything from the decor, to the service and the quality and taste of the food exceeded expectations. Our server just arrived from Portugal just 4 months ago, talk about an authentic touch! He was great. Ordered the clams and arancini from the tapas menu and a mixed platter for dinner which has a mix of meats and seafood. We also got some of daily special fresh fish! Clams were so good, the octopus, squid, sausage excellent, but the highlight was the fresh fish from the coasts of Portugal - so fresh, and very well done.The decor is very clever and on trend. Everything from the nice, comfortable leather chairs to the ambient green wall colour. Even the washrooms were interesting!

This is my second time at Mercado and always superb service and food. Our server was fantastic and personable. He took the time to explain items on the menu and never rushed us to make a decision. The chef came around to each table to see how we were doing and how the food was. Now that's how you run a business! We felt like family at Mercado and the decor and atmosphere was amazing. I felt like I was brought back to my Portugal trip.I would highly recommend Mercado to friends and family. Just superb. Kudos to the chef and the Mercado team.

Very good experience coming from delicious selection of food, superb service and comfortable ambience..This restaurant is located in the mixed residential and commercial area along Calendonia Ave in Toronto with ample parking space.. No wonder people come here to dine and enjoy the experience. My first time to try and will definitely come back.
