Remdal: Painting & Restoration Contractors

Remdal recently completed an asbestos abatement on my bathroom. On the day of the appointment the workers showed up on time and ready to go. Jason told me that the job might require two days but it was completed in one day and done well. I would recommend Remdal without reservation.

Avoid at all cost.The only thing impressive about this company is how long it takes them to do a job.Love the plants on your balcony? Say goodbye, they won’t survive. The promised two weeks will turn into two months. These guys will string this job out as long as possible.Your Strata will sign a contract that gives you no rights or recourse for unnecessary delays or damaged property. Forget about your privacy.

Remdal Painting painted 'Seasons By The Lake' townhouse complex in Burnaby in 2008 and 2018. Their management and employees were very professional, courteous, and accommodating and promptly looked after any issues that arose. Remdal restored the exterior of a 10 storey office tower in 2018 and a 60K sf shopping centre in Surrey for us in 2019. Excellent company, with outstanding communication and follow up. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

Super job Remdal. Couldn't have asked for a better team to complete a complex project for our 58 unit townhouse involving wood trim replacement, painting stucco, carports and doors, as well as dealing with the unexpected. The teams were easy to communicate with, professional and the follow through was thorough. Really appreciated the project management supporting the teams throughout the project. Thanks.

Remdal led a major cleaning and concrete resurfacing project over the summer of 2021. The team was professional, responsive, completed the work to a high standard, and were able to finish well ahead of schedule. Highly recommended!

Critical: ProfessionalismI wasn't in charge of checking quality of their workmanship but what I noticed is that they didn't show up much respect for private property of their customers. My yard was left in mess after their crew finished power wash. They washed all dirt in front of my back door. Their supervisor promised to send crew to do proper cleaning but it didn't happen. On the end I had to sweep and clean their mess. Not very professional. Also, they did damage plants and little fence made to protect plants and that little area from pets in front of my window. Twice. I understand that they had to move ladder around but they should show care for customer's private property. Before they started painting project they told our Strata that they ( Remdall) are not responsible for any damage?! Professionals should say We damage-We fix or We pay for damage caused by our crew. Never heard that professionals are not responsible for damage they made. One day they worked in my yard moved some planters and furniture and they didn't put them back? Also my yard fence door which was locked and secured was left open/unsecured after their paining crew finished staining the fence?!I noticed that paint was sprayed on my electronic door lock and paint/stain drops on my concrete floor and around the property. Have no clue how they are going to remove it without leaving marks on surface but that is up to Strata Council Members to request cleaning or to leave as-is (it is very possible that Strata Council members will leave it as-is or suggest unit owners to clean themselves ) . When about safe work I noticed some work place hazards that could be reviewed by Work Safe BC but project is almost over and i'm about to enjoy my freshly painted yard with stain drops on the brick floor.Also, during renovation so many deck screws, wood pieces, used work gloves were thrown in my limited common property from the scaffold above. I had to walk through that mess for days. I couldn't see any reason why Remdall couldn't send one of their laborers to spend 10 minutes sweeping customers yard at the end of work day? I had to walk through that mess for weeks. But thank goodness it is almost over.Again maybe Remdall is a great paining contractor but the lack of care for customers private property was obvious.After they finished painting I found that my unit had to pay $10.000 over real project price?! Money was kept somewhere and I got it back after a few months. Strata Council refused to return interest earned on that amount. Strange that these pros didnt know how much painting project may cost. Small Strata 17 units. I could understand if that was $500 or $1000 over real costs of painting but $10.000!?Btw paint drops and spills are still all around the place. I guess Remdal Painting will never come back to fix their mess. Acctually not necessary will ask Strata Council to do it at CRT.

Terrible experience! Brutally slow and impressively inefficient.Do NOT allow your Strata to hire this company. They’ll hold your building hostage and inconvenience you as much as possible.Little respect for people’s privacy or personal property. They’ll work 4 hour days during perfect weather, standing on your balcony texting, take a two hour lunch then blame their lack of progress on bad weather.If you have no other choice…make sure your contract has time stipulations and someone competent from your Strata is monitoring their “progress.”Very likely that all previous positive reviews are fake. Think twice about hiring these criminals.

Excellent problem solving and persistence.We had a number of unexpected challenges regarding the surface quality of our building, and the team from Remdall was incredibly creative and persistent in finding a resolution AND maintaining the original budget. We are very happy with the completed project.
