Dollarama

Had an issue with our payment method during checkout. The manager was more than patient with us and was an absolute saint. He re-scanned almost $300 worth of items, waited patiently with my girlfriend and I while we sorted out things on our end to make payment. A slightly embarrassing affair but he made us comfortableOn to the store:OK, this is probably the best Dollarama I've ever been to period. I lived in Ontario before and nothing compares to this one. The one on Douglas feels kind of like a desolate ghost town in terns of stock, especially in the food isles. so after getting the chance to check this one out, we'll definitely be going back more often. The selection of really anything is wild. Lot's of B-Stock items from brands you know and love, it won't be perfect but it's cheap. We were quite surprised at the amount of name brand stuff in there.Only downside is that the isles are pretty narrow, that's the price to pay for the amount of stuff you can buy here I suppose. Real people check you out which is nice, almost feels foreign now a days with the ever increasing number of self check outs popping up literally everywhere. If you're into self checkouts, unfortunately you wont have the option.Is this the best Dollarama in Lower Vancouver Island? Time will tell, more of them to check out lol. 10/10 customer service and product selection.

This place is great! But they do not accept the American dollar.

Takes a bit of self learning where to find what you want but once you're comfortable there's a good chance of finding it. Checkout can be a hassle with many more customers than staff.

The current Manager at Westside Village discriminates against persons with disabilities.When in store yesterday, this Manager ambushed me and yelled about not wearing a mask ( Although my disability is not on the surface, I am exempt from wearing a mask or face covering under provincial legislation due to a work related disability). When I attempted to explain my situation, the Manager proceeded to accuse me of lying and demanded that I tell him what was wrong with me". Under privacy legislation

Staff are really nice. Store is clean and bright. No baskets only carts.

It's cheap and the items are cheaply made. Sometimes though they have items like funko pops for cheap. They also have good bake wear for cheap. Customer service is good l.

This location is 100% better than the new one on Douglas. I will always take the bit extra time to walk across the bridge over constantly empty shelves on Douglas. The location by Mayfair Mall is usually pretty good as well. I don't really know what's up with the new one you would think that by now they would at least have the shelves filled. It's definitely not a lack of employees as every time I have been there there's people stalking shelves in multiple aisles, but the question is With What?" As they sadly continue to stay empty. I still cannot answer this question..."

Decent selection. Less mystery brands than other dollar stores. Good for basics

Great place to buy many many absurdly cheap items. Some you should stay away from but others and quite a steal, cleaning supplies, yard equipment, snacks and general small tools to name a few. If nearby would recommend although Walmart is usually as cheap and generally more reliable.
