Best Vietnamese place in town!I just have to have their noodle and broth every week, especially in winter.Recently they made some changes in the menu and it's even better.

My buddy and I were thinking of a place to go for lunch, and he had heard this place was new. We tried it out and it was decent. A little bit more on the pricey side but they do have some unique aspects. The fresh roll was pretty decent and the presentation was great. The tea they serve is also very good. The pho itself was good, we both got the house special pho equivalent. They also have some pickled peppers on the table that give the soup a little bit more of a sour/spicy flavour.Would come back to try some of their specialty soups.

Tried this restaurant out and was really surprised with the chicken wings. Wow, I would come here again just for the chicken wings. The pho was decent too. The kids loved the pho.

The interior is a bit crammed and dark (unlike Nam 2 which is bigger) but food is just as amazing. The raw beef in the pho is actually raw and so tender, but I felt that the tendon was too soft/overcooked. The crispy spring rolls were tasty as expected, and the lemongrass pork chop and chicken thigh were juicy and flavourful. Their Thai tea was also excellent, but might be too sweet for some people. Also their tea was so good; we asked the waiter what it was and all he said was Chinese jasmine tea" which I think is a lie lol

The food was very good. I wanted to order the beef ribs and egg on rice but ordered the wrong thing on the menu based on numbers. When I told them this was not what I had wanted, they checked and confirmed I had ordered something different (pork chop, chicken and egg on rice). After looking at the menu, I realized I had made the mistake. Although totally within their rights (since they brought me what I had ordered), it would have been nice, and above and beyond to offer to change it for what I had wanted to order. But the food is delicious and I will go back. Next time I'll triple check my order before placing it.The place is on the smaller size and tables are close together. My family and I (including my 4 year old daughter) were seated next to someone who had been put in charge of ensuring every one on his team at work were seated together. He thought this was below him and was telling his friend all about it using every expletive possible. Meanwhile sitting within arms length of my daughter. Some people are so ignorant to the world around them. This is not an issue caused by the restaurant, but it detracted from my experience and the overall atmosphere.

***TL;DR/THINGS TO KNOW***- Looks like the biggest table they have is for a group of eight - anymore than that would require a second table- Only accepts debit or cash- Ordering your dishes and menu item prices are through a QR code that is placed on the tableI had a poor experience dining here tonight with my partner for a few reasons- We weren't served tea or any drinks when we sat down, I had to call the waiter and ask for it to be given to me- We ordered our food through an online form- The waiter knocked over my partner's tea and it spilt all over his side of the table.- When we asked for the bill, we were told to go up to the front desk to pay.Overall, it gives the impression that the waiters aren't well trained and the system here is essentially self-serve. At this point, this restaurant becomes a glorified food court and I can't justify giving tip for the service we got here. The prices for the dishes here are a little more on the pricier side, the medium bowl of the house special pho was around $14 dollars. The plate of 9 chicken wings was $16 and the large beef brisket pho was $16. There are cheaper pho restaurants within a 10km radius that will provide better food and service for less.Food wise, the broth was quite bland. I had a craving for salty, beef broth and this didn't satisfy my appetite. The beef brisket pho barely had any meat, and the noodles were slightly overcooked and soggy. (the pho dac biet bowl was ok, topping wise) The chicken wings were great! Probably the best part of the meal, however for the price we paid for them, they are pricey.

Vietnamese food and pho have become a staple in Toronto for decades, there are many Vietnamese restaurants around however, none of them is quite hitting the spot, until I tried Nam's Pho Tai and Bun Bo Hue. Thanks to my friend and in-laws recommendation, I finally find the Pho for my likings. The Pho Tai here was full of flavours, that you can smell it from afar, the spice in the soup was prominence, cinnamon and star anise scent were strong. The beef here was thin, silky and easy to chew. Beef meatballs has a chewy texture with tendon bits in it, just like how they do it in Vietnam. The Bun Bo Hue was also a strong contestant, mildly spicy, beautifully coloured by Annatto seeds, most importantly they have put shrimp paste broth into the soup base which is very authentic, you can definitely taste a hint of seafood flavour and it gave the soup an extra dimension. It has all the essential toppings for Bun Bo Hue: Vietnamese luncheon meat, beef brisket slices, port trotter and most importantly the pork blood, many restaurants don't have that here in Toronto. It is the best Bun Bo Hue I had so far, even better than in Hanoi. Gotta mention their herb plate, they have shredded banana blossom, it is quite usual in Vietnam, however you don't usually see them in many Vietnamese restaurants here. The spring roll was also good, they used the rice paper for the skin which is authentic, many restaurants here in Toronto used the Chinese spring roll skin that is a totally different animal. I would like their dipping sauce to be a bit more sour and savoury tho, but all in all it was a very enjoyable spring roll.Nam is the best Vietnamese cuisine I have tried so far, very authentic. Staff seems to be all Vietnamese and many customers are Vietnamese descents. It is a good sign that they are doing the right thing. I have already decided what to have next time I'm here.2nd visit: 2 days after, I just can't wait to have some more, we went there with our parents and we had the soft shell crab noodles and Bo Kho (tomato beef stew) with rice noodles. Both are excellent, the Bun Rieu (crab and pork noodles soup) was lighter on palate, the Bo Kho was full of flavour and depth, the beef chunks were soft and fell apart in mouth, highly recommended. We also tried their deep fried chicken wing with honey and lemon, they were not bad, quite interesting flavour, you should try it of you felt the adventurous.

Delicious food. The crab tapioca noodle is the best. The fried chicken wings are must have. Very good service. The staffs are very considerate and kind.

Very delicious food but extremely small portions for the price. Most disappointing was this chicken dish, for $12 you only get 5 small pieces of chicken. The staff here is impolite, while you are eating they are chatting away and singing ignoring you when you are calling for service. But despite all of this, you still must pay a mandatory 12% for tip.
