The Sunflower School

my son loves this school, I leave him with the smile and the hurry he wants to enter.the teachers are lovely!the child is the mouth of truth .... if he likes it, it means they do a good job! the games and activities they perform are stimulating and creative and not the classic stereotypical games!

The lady who runs this location was quoted as saying I can't wait to catch up on drinking" and had hangover elixir shipped to the school. But the teachers were great"

Nice and friendly staff. Have been sending my Preschool boy and have seen lot of developments in him. Should mention Viki and Megan who have been of great support all the time. Thanks Sarah

My daughter and son attended the Sunflower School for a year and a half, starting when they were 11 months and 2 years old, respectively. We only left the daycare because we recently moved to another town. We loved the Reggio approach of experiential learning (especially the time spent in nature) and have seen the positive effects it has had on our children with respect to their problem solving, creativity and absorption of knowledge. But more importantly than the approach is the nurturing and loving nature of the staff there – I left each morning knowing that my children were in the care of experienced, passionate individuals who understood and appreciated the uniqueness of each child there. The communication between teachers and parents was exceptional and the level of effort that went into planning their many events (i.e. graduation, starry night, mud day, Christmas concert, etc.) exceeds most others. We were so sad to say goodbye and will truly miss this place!

Amazing day care centre. Our daughter loves it and can't wait to see her teachers. They keep kids engaged with fun activities throughout the day and work with parents on developmental milestones. We also find the Reggio approach works well with our daughter. Thanks for the amazing care!

My child has attended the Sunflower School daycare for three years now and I can't say enough good things about the place! The staff are loving, professional, well-trained and a pleasure to interact with. The programming far exceeds any other daycare in the area that I know of. They engage in child-centred learning that honours the ideas and capabilities of the children. They teach kindness and foster children's innate creativity and curiosity. I was looking for a daycare that based their programming on an established philosophy instead of just running random games and crafts. Sunflower School is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and it is an absolute gem. We are lucky to have such high-quality early childhood care here in Orangeville!

My son had a spot secured with Sunflower, Lord Dufferin location. It was confirmed in writing twice and verbally another 2 times. Paid the registration fee and submitted completed paperwork in February. In May, 7 weeks before he is to start, they email me to tell me there’s no room for him. They will not honour their written commitment and just have an “oh well” attitude. Would never recommend this place. Completely unprofessional and have left us in an extremely stressful position of scrambling to find child care on such short notice, which is next to impossible in the Town of Orangeville for infant care. They made zero effort to try to fix their mistake. Don’t bother with this place because they’ll just give your child’s spot away too
