Travelodge by Wyndham Nanaimo

The property is a little run down. Close to Departure Bay ferry terminal, Nanaimo. Convenient, rooms were clean & nice, beds were comfy, staff members were accommodating. Lot of parking and free breakfast.

This may be ranked a 2 star but they provide 5 star service. The rooms are great and very clean. Staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and help every way they can. Centrally located and a great stay!

Room staff are fantastic, although slightly dated, and low tech the staff keep the rooms clean and smelling very fresh. Continental brekkie is muffins, juice , yogurt, bananas and apples - nothing to write Aunt Sally about.There were minor easily resolved issues at check in and check out so that was less than.Location is fantastic 2 blocks from the ocean, ferry dock and walking distance to downtown.Give this spot a try. They have family type suites and I guess there is value here.

Staff claimed the room was smoked in, and kept $100 damage deposit, despite that being untrue.Had unwanted company just outside the hotel room door, and folks were using drugs and smoking all through the night, resulting in a night without sleeping.When this was brought up with hotel staff, they said, you don't have to stay here".So

Extremely clean building and rooms. Staff friendly and helpful. Centrally located. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Clean room with a comfortable king bed. Staff were friendly and professional. Right off the main road thru Nanaimo and close to departure bay ferry terminal. Free continental breakfast

I was really impressed with the staff and the quality of the hotel for being so budget friendly. The staff were super kind and went out of their way to be helpful (they often offered assistance before I asked). They were very pet friendly. The rooms were super clean and comfortable. It is also right near the departure bay ferry terminal which is perfect if you need to catch an early ferry or if there is a snow storm.

Can't complain about the room, it was clean and had a reasonable rate. Staff at the desk at check in and check out were very friendly as well. However I think the hotel is hosting a lot of longer term marginalized tenants, a few derelict vehicles parked out front, couple of characters walking around the halls. No issue except the walls are PAPER thin and my neighbor was going through some kinda drink or drug induced paranoia and was yelling and banging around all night. I don't expect the staff to deal with that but the thinness of the walls was very apparent. Can't fault anyone here but be aware that this may not be the best place for a family stay at least in the winter. Certainly felt a little rough around the edges.

We reached the dining area at 9:15 am.. the breakfast time stated in the booking was 6am - 10am. According to list of item photo attached sticked near breakfast room 50% item was finished even though we came at 9:15 am for breakfast.Please don't mention in your page breakfast included, on other hand Lady in breakfast rooms says its a favor we are doing on customer giving you 1 muffins, 1 cup of apple juice and 1 banana.This is called kids school snacks and not breakfast. Other Wyndham hotels they charge the same and provide waffle, cereals, boil eggs, bagels, toast bread, yogurts and juices for kids, Tea and coffee with a good smile and not frowny faces.By the way its not a favor, your are charging breakfast from customer mentioning breakfast included.Booking was done for sea view, you can see Toe of your feet size sea view and they charge extra for that.Receptionist was so rude during the night shift when checked in.She blocked 2 parking slot for some special guest telling the person was in a rush and parked the car improperly and i don't want to disturb them.Morning Receptionist was friendly and helpful while check-out time.Super worst !Its a STRESSLODGE HOTEL BY WYNDHAM.

Plus: Lots of pillows, bed is fairly comfortable, wifi was excellent.Cons: Dirty, smells. The trim in the bathroom was rotten and falling apart, cob webs, the heater and air conditioner was broken yet it was 25 in the room. The breakfast sucked.If you are on a budget stay, otherwise find a decent hotel like the Courtyard Nanaimo by Marriott.
