Surrey Gardens Apartments

I have been living here for 3 years, and we have had an issue with cockroaches here. Not much has been done to get rid of cockroaches. The cockroach bait that has been consistently added isn’t working and might actually be making my asthma flair up( doctor suggested). So after 3 years of this we are moving out. Also when I went door to door to talk to some other tenants I was told they had the same issue last year and one lady said she has mice living with her (although her suit isn’t kept clean so that’s obviously why) my fiancé and I keep our suit as clean as possible and we are having to clean the cupboards every other day as it is disgusting to think cockroaches are walking all over our plates and other stuff. Apart from cockroaches the landlord is well responsive with any other issue. We have had a broken oven and fridge and it was dealt with within a day or two. But we cannot share a space with cockroaches, if you don’t mind then this is a great place. If you enjoy having good health I would suggest not staying here. (We are in building A, I don’t know if the newer buildings have the same issue. This one was the first of the bunch)

The management and property is amazing. The snow removal is fast and very well done by the staff. The area is very convenient. Doctors office and bus right next door. sky train station is about a 15 minute walk.

@dee Montana Vandez I can personally confirm there is a major cockroach issue. Building A (the one off of 102 Ave)The entire time we have lived here (since 2015) there has been cockroach baiting occuring. Last year (2017) we had a couple cockroaches in our suite but the bait took care of them. This year (2018) since March we have been in a war for our sanity with multiple cockroaches seen daily. We clean our house daily, including a full break down of the kitchen area to wipe cockroach fecal matter off of our stuff.We have asked the staff to do something but all they will do is have Orkin bait. It has done nothing and thankfully our lease is up so we can leave without penalty.We are leaving but are currently trying to decide a way to clean everything we own of cockroach eggs. Google it, It's pretty terrifying where they get.Overall the building is fine, staff are friendly so are the tenants. But the cockroaches are a deal breaker. We have asked for fumigation for months but they will not do anything. They don't care there are plenty of people begging to get in.Good luck to everyone living there.Btw one of the suites also has a rat infestation.

I went to view one of their elite" suites and i loved it .They have been remodeled and very retro

This place is very peaceful and convenient. What I mean is that the management is taking such good care of the building and support requests that living here has been such a peaceful experience and finally, convenient in a way that the bus stops are right there, gas station us so close, the plaza at 96 and 128 makes getting coffee from Starbucks easy and most of all, the City Center train station being the best benefit of all. The new manager, Selina, is very compassionate and a great listener. Most of the problems reported are resolved in 24 hours to 48 hours. Most of all, she is always available to talk if need be. Her professional conduct makes me think how seriously she takes her job and complaints. Finally, I would recommend people looking for apartments to live in Surrey to come by to check out the three awesome building available before looking elsewhere. Keep up the great work!

My wife and I went to look at an apartment in this complex, we were treated very rudelyby the manager. I believe his name was McLeod or something like that.When we came out we met a woman that lived there, she asked if we were going to rent, we said maybe, she said don't the management is very bad.The apartments are at least 30 years old, the rents are so high and only include hot and cold water, electricity is not included, no dishwashers just a fridge and a stove.He offered us a suite for 700.00, I told him that was way too much for what there was.Now we have a nice 2 bedroom, including dishwasher and cable for 650.00 in a much better location.DON'T RENT HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT

My names is Jun and I live here. The first review that had 15 photos of roaches and mice was taken down. This building is heavily infested. No matter how you clean, you will wake up to at least 5 roaches every day. Mice will sneak into your unit as well. 4 months of pest control is not helping at all.

The building is pretty nice especially the lobby. Selena is a God sent honestly. Probably the best landlord we have ever had. Very understanding, attentive, had few concerns at this place anyway. However, the few times we did have concerns it was dealt with the same day.
