My daughter had the opportunity to buy a ring from a friend at school. The young lady had purchased it for over $220 and wanted only $200 for it. Very pretty ring but I told my daughter she should have someone look at it first to be sure she was getting her monies worth. (She has a part time job and had enough to buy it but I wanted to be sure it was worth it). We messaged Burns and asked if they would look at it. He said for sure, to bring it in. He took a quick look at it and could tell right away the value. We never told the owner of Burns how much was being asked for it but he told my daughter to not pay more than $125. Then he took her to the counter and explained that she could buy a brand new one for less than $125. He said it was a good idea to come in. The young lady that was selling the ring to her was not trying to rip her off but probably just didn’t know the true value of it and he suggested she offer her $125 or not buy it at all. He also explained to her about “buyer beware”. She did actually pick something beautiful and asked if we could buy it for her for her next birthday.There was no pressure to purchase anything when we were there and he was very patient.

Bought a watch for my wife and was happy with the purchase. Also left an antique ring to have the claws/setting rebuilt.There was quite a delay with the ring and we had some concern. Eventually the ring was finished and looks beautiful - the gentleman who did the work had had some personal issues which accounted for the delay.Patience my friend, patience.

I took in a couple of necklaces to be repaired. One of the necklaces returned was not mine. Somewhere in the repair process it had been swapped out for a different necklace, similar but not nearly as nice as mine. I was told they called the repair shop, but nothing was found. I will never do any business with this company again.

Burns Jewellers has now become my go to store to buy jewellery. The staff are warm, friendly and knowledgeable. It doesn't matter if you are buying a substantial piece of jewellery or getting a new watch battery, you are treated as a valued customer. Would highly recommend.

I asked to find out what my ring was comprised of and they told me that they would send it out to find out but they just scratched the bottom of it and told me that it was gold plated since it was white underneath. They did this without my permission. Terrible company.
