Stepping Stone (The)

I have used the place since I arrived in Canada. It gives me a bed , a shower and coffee with a snack in the morning before I leave at 0730

On Monday August and September and October for you to know about this property

Basic shelter. Shared rooms. TV is nice. Resources for stepping to the next level are OK. I would like to see improvement in the housing departments of Ontario.

I found myself new to Guelph trying to find a room to rent and a new job after moving down from Muskoka. After a few weeks and my hard earned savings dwindling, i found it cheaper to sleep in my truck until a suitable room became available; (which is very difficult if your not a student in Guelph). Once the weather became unbearable, -15 or so, i sought help with the Stepping Stone organization. After a very helpful and friendly women via telephone took down my facts, i wascontacted by a very rude intake person by the name of Travis. Basically i was told to back to where i came from and no emergency shealter was available. Since that conversation, i have found a room and a job. Thanks for nothing Travis, u need to improve your people skills and devolp some empathy.

Amazing staff and deeds.

Life proof help when it's needed, I had a chest cold, in the cold, and was referred. Because of their catch I have decided to stay in Guelph, helping where I can find use. I cleared the chest cold and a PCR test to negative, thanks all.

For a homeless shelter it's not bad. The staff Is nice it's clean. The food they provide isn't the greatest for up to 22 man but it is what it is.

I have been trying to get my client into this shelter for weeks. No one answer the phone or return voice messages. Extremely bad customer service. I am still waiting for some one to pick answer the phone get back to me.

An organization that once had good intentions but is now so terribly managed they've lost sight of what really matters and forgotten how to treat others with basic kindness and respect. I hope they can get some newer, more caring individuals on their management team to foster a more positive and motivated working environment. Then they might actually be able to make more real and lasting change for their wonderful and very deserving clients.

Turn me down because outta town but a refuggee can get room from other country . My grandfather died for canada in the war and i just need room for a night on hsrd times because cost of living so high. Thanks
