My experience in dealing with the professional at First Memorial Funeral Services was exceptional. All of the arrangements had been made in advance, so I did not require all of the services offered but I felt that the lady who helped me was sincere, kind, thoughtful and professional. I was treated with dignity throughout the process and I could not have asked for a better experience at such a difficult time.I will make my own arrangements with this firm and recommend them to others in need of their services.

First memorial went above and beyond to get through what is always a difficult time. Everything was done exactly as we asked right down to the finest detail. Amy was exceptional in getting all organized. Gord Fletcher to speak at the service took family information and made it like he knew all of us personally.Professional and friendly through the whole process.Thank you First Memorial.

If I could make this review 100 stars, I would. Just recently, my sister lost her only 18 month Grandson unexpectedly. The little guy was full of swagger with the ladies, and a pure gentlemen in training. To say the least the family was overwhelmed by a tsunami of grief. I had flew out across 5 provinces to support them through this hellish time. I knew I needed to get my nephew’s son back to him as soon as possible. My nephew was in AB, and his little boy was in BC. This was such a complex situation and I had never organized a funeral. At first it felt extremely daunting, but I knew I just needed to keep moving forward.I called Amy to find out how this worked, and pricing. I have dealt with many companies, contractors and organizations before, but I can tell you that Amy should be teaching them all how to assist their customers. First, she listened. And not a “yeah, yeah, yeah listen”, but a full engagement listen to our complex situation. Then she suggested through options for all steps of the way. She sent me a full breakdown of the steps that we could take, including some choice options to discuss with my nephew. It was so simple, and at this point with assisting a devasted grieving family literally on the other side of this great country, I could not ask for more. And solution focused! There was never a moment where I felt we were stuck. If things did not go as expected, no problem. Amy was so quick to communicate openly, and let us know. She had several options, which she always presented in professional manner, which we were able to make informed decision so quickly. Also, the service was supported so well with amazing hours of availability to answer all your questions and other team members to back up Amy. Thank you Haline and Terance for backing up Amy along the way!And then the personal touch, which makes me tear up each time I tell the story of their kindness. You see we did not have access to my sister’s grandson clothes, or things. Amy did something that after the darkness our family faced and honestly at a moment where I could not see how any silver lining could come of this, she renewed the light in humanity for me. On their own accord, they had bought a giraffe stuffy and large fuzzy blanket for my nephew’s 18 month son. They did not have to do that, it was not in our contract, and at that point, I just did not think of these details. Amy restored my faith in humanity that day. Thank you Amy, for not just helping a beautiful little boy transition to the other side, but also showing me that in the face of darkness, light can shine though so brightly though the kindness of just one person. Thank you again Amy.So, if you are in market for a funeral home, first of all I am so sorry for your loss. And second, there is no better hands that you will be in than at First Memorial Funeral Services. Honest, solution focused, caring, transparent the entire way, professional but with such compassion. They will provide the quality of death that your loved one deserves. 100 stars is not enough.

Honestly each moment of connecting with each person was outstanding! I felt heard and cared for right from the first phone call. I was in a state of shock and Carolyne Gamble helped me so much to feel better instantly. When I went in I met with Carolyne and I was shocked by her ability to sense what I needed with a presence of love and care. I brought my son with me and she was so incredibly kind and thoughtful and made us both feel calm and looked after. We both felt so blessed. She looked after each step with incredible precision, efficiency and focused care. I did not have to worry about a thing at any time during the process. Whenever I had a question she was there with the exact answer that I needed. I love her spirit, energy and character of who she is. I appreciate her ability to customize my experience and take ALL the stress out of the journey of letting go of my Mom.I would and have already recommended Carolyne Gamble and First Memorial to many people with confidence and conviction. It honestly was the most kind, caring, compassionate, gracious experience I could have ever asked for. I did not expect it to be so easy and I am so grateful.I thank First Memorial for having such great leadership and thank Carolyne for making such a positive difference in my life!

As the name suggests I felt was treated dignity and respect while dealing with recent loss of my mother. We had Terrence for help and he was excellent. As we had no planned arrangements they were very understanding and helpful.
