Absolutely the best gluten and dairy free bakery items I have ever tasted. I have been GF & DF for over 4 years now and I can't believe the variety and quality of breads available from Roots Rising and don't get me started on the bakery treats they a seriously delicious!! I can't recommend this unique bakery highly enough for anyone, not just those with special dietary requirements

Absolutely wonderful selection of gluten-free, vegan, keto options. Every one delicious! It's hard to find decent gf options in vast quantities. Georgie must be a wizard in figuring out how to make her bread nearly identical and often times superior in flavour and texture than regular breads. I highly recommend the sourdough and blueberry lavender pies. Fresh foods, frozen foods, everything is awesome. I am a fan of the e-transfer setup. In and out so easily! Only downside is the 1-person-at-a-time setup in the shack if you're in a rush.

So happy to have found this amazing little bake house after moving from Vancouver. Everything I’ve tried so far has been amazing. I really appreciate the vegan, keto and Paleo options as well. Now I don’t have to improve my own gluten free baking.

OUTSTANDING baking. Nevermind the fact that everything is gluten free, yet not at all noticeable. I have 9 years of gluten free baking experience, 10 years of living with celiac, and I can say without a doubt that your bread is the best I have ever had. I finally got to try the fresh sourdough yesterday, it's so perfectly sour, and was exactly what i was hoping for. Delightful sweet treats, which are not too sweet and full of flavour! Cinnamon rolls(Ferrero Rocher style) which could actually be unrolled, fantastically soft and yeasty. Scrumptious cookies, ginger molasses,all sorts of short breads, they're all delicious. Great textured scones(reminded my hubby of his mom's gluten baking), also bursting with flavour. Sandwich bread that actually holds together for the duration of an entire sandwich, yet is also soft enough to bend without breaking! Even my gluten-full husband, who has become quite the connoisseur(baker's spoiled husband) thoroughly enjoys your baking. I so appreciate what you are doing, and absolutely love your beautiful and convenient store! We drive 45 mins each way just to stock up, and it's very much worth it!

This place is an absolute dream come true! Every single thing is SO delicious! The sourdough is especially divine! Thankyou so much for offering such an array of scrumptious delights for those of us who can't eat gluten. (my wife who does eat gluten is also a huge fan!) The way your little store front operates is also really smart! I am blown away with how much variety is available in such a small space.

The carrot cake muffins with cashew cream are unbelievable!! I can't wait to try some of the other things! 2 days later..... Everything is 5 star awesome!! Received a Father's Day box full of delicious treats. Who knew that gluten free could taste like this?!! Not me!

Roots Rising has some of the best gluten free and low carb baking around. Worth the trip to Union Bay or to the Farmer's Market downtown on Saturday mornings. I trust her products to be truly gluten free, and delicious!
