Dollar Car Rental - Winnipeg International Airport

Terrible customer service...Charged 50 dollars for fuel after being told to bring back car with as much fuel as it had when being rented. 6 phone calls , 3 months and repeated assurances later that the problem would be fixed, no refund yet.

Got off the plane and went to pickup the mid sized suv that was prepaid through Economy Bookings. The nice gentleman at the desk told me they were out but gave me a free upgrade to a Standard SUV, a 2022 Ford Explorer fully loaded. I was told I was the first renter on this vehicle as it only had 45 kms on it. When I picked it up it was very clean and still had the new car smell. Upon return, the young man who met me at the airport when I dropped it off was also very pleasant to deal with. He said he hoped I had a good trip then checked the car over and said everything is all good and have a safe flight home. I have to say that I have never had a bad rental experience with Dollar and will continue to rent from them when I need a car. Thank you to all the staff at Dollar Rent A Car at the Winnipeg airport. Keep up the amazing work.

The old lady treats customers like trash!! Terrible service.

Such low quality customer service I never received in my life, did not receive the car that I ordered (Jeep) instead got a Mazda that doesn't have navigation and was totally dirty.Read the reviews and don't get tempted by the low price, I guess you really get what you pay for.

Rented a car online for immediate use. Went to the desk and they said it wouldn’t be ready for 3 hours. We’re SUPER rude about it too.

Don’t let the guys at the desk tell you to buy the prepaid fuel and you’ll get the difference credited back - you won’t. I was charged the full tank of fuel and the automated message when I called told me they don’t issue refunds on pre-paid fuel so it’s a scam to upsell you at the desk. When I returned the car I was even told the half-tank would be reflected on my receipt. Unfortunately I can’t actually call the location, and they depend on that.

Very impressed by my experience. Didn’t know Dollar existed, got my reservations through Expedia. Rate was very good relatively. Was given a free upgrade. Twice had to extend and staff were courteous and helpful on the phone. Fantastic!

If it was up to me I would not give them any star. Terrible customer service. I booked a car from booking.com and paid for it upfront. According to their terms and conditions this booking would have not required a credit card and the only thing I needed to do was to pay taxes when I pick up the vehicle. When I arrived to pick up they said they would need major credit and I asked the old lady who sitting there just complaining to every single customer that how she has to work 11-12 hrs a day and she has not had her morning coffee.. please note that my flight was long and tiring and I had infant with me and luggage, stroller and car seat. Any ways I told the lady that its paid for and she refused to look at my booking app. I told her that I used visa debit to pay for it and its paid for. She refused me the service and said she cannot do anything and I will have to speak with booking.com which is an international company. I called booking.com and they said that car rental company should have contacted them right away as per the rule but they never did. I was in tears and how she treated me in-front of all other customers. I had no choice to take cab to my hotel and thought what this world has turned in to. Where is my hard earned money going… these crooks?? Dollar still has not refunded my money and booking.com folks have also said they would have to speak with dollar before they process the refund and it will have to be an investigation where I am not guaranteed a refund.The number at booking.com is wrong no wonder why agents at booking.com can’t get a hold of these rip off dollar people . I googled and found this number and it turned out that hertz thrify and dollar are same and manager name harpreet had no empathy for me. He said he cannot accommodate me as visa debit is only accepted in US. I told why do I have to pay when vehicle is already paid for he was like I do not know ma’m its not our policy.i eveb offered to pay taxes on a credit card and he said it would have to be the same card that I paid with which is visa debit and it has my name on it. He said straight NO again!! Like He would not budge. He said they are also SOLD OUT and can’t give me a vehicle anyway even if he was to do something for next 2 days. I booked and paid for 8 days!! That also means that they took my money and gave that vehicle to someone else who also paid them. Is it not fraud????All in all I paid for the car rental which I didn't get and I am out of $412 for no reason and both parties can’t tell me who will give me my refund. That theft is going to BBB for further review along with legal action as this is fraud, and hopefully I get my money back soon. These people are robbers don’t go to them and use a good company such as budget or enterprise who will respect you.

Perhaps we need to walk a mile in another's shoes before we judge the rude old lady" ...she has been nothing but accomodating with me ...I use this location all the time and the staff is friendly

Just called the location for additional information and spoke to an agent named Reena. She was very helpful, pleasant, and answered my questions. Great telephone experience.
