The service is non existent. No atmosphere either. The meat is all so dry, and hard. Their knife is too blunt to cut them, so good luck. Prawn salad is freasly defrosted for you, you can enjoy its sponge like texture!

It was a joyless meal. The meat us left to dry out under a heat lamp. The vegetables were lifeless. You could tell that everyone does this. It was almost by rote. The chef was wearing a ripped body warmer whilst serving. Rather a depressing place.

They must have read the last review because the service was very attentive. My wife and I enjoyed our dinner very much.

Although the food I have had both times visiting this restaurant has been lovely (though there is only one choice for a vegetarian main and the starter salad bar is not labelled so who knows what I was actually eating), the service here leaves much to be desired. You are greeted happily and shown to your table, but other than that you are basically left to your own devices. We had to call the waiter over after at least 10 minutes before we could order drinks yet we got offered bread about 4 times. There was little to no instruction on how to access the starters, they brought my godmother's prawn salad straight over for her, yet my mother's melon boat was apparently too much trouble (though they were in the same place) and my salad was just gestured at in a vague motion. For the main, it was a carvery, so meat eaters naturally have no problems at all - they can go and get what they want. However the vegetarian option isn't on display, but you had to go up and request it to be brought to your table. Again, no one told us this, we were up and down about six times before we realised who to ask. They don't keep track of the meals you are eating, the bill is written up on a random bit of paper and it's basically guess work to what meals were where. They were lovely, and welcoming but I would recommend finding somewhere else to eat

Fawlty Towers lives on, it really is that entertaining and for comedy value alone I can thoroughly recommend this throw back in time. Some staff tried hard under the bright lights, Basil, Cybil and Manuel live on. The little touches from the chaotic greeting, dead poinsettia on the table, two packages of butter on the side dishes, and a selection of packaged sugars on the dining table in preparation for breakfast were characterful. I suspect chef had freshly opened the can for the minestrone soup, but it wasn’t as nice as Campbell’s. The carvery was a splendid display of overcooked meat being further incinerated under infrared heat lamps. The cow died in vain supplying the very well done beef so I chose the roast pork, which was dry, with soft crackling. The Yorkshire pudding accompanying it would have made a Yorkshireman cry and the vegetables had the characteristic grey from being gently over cooked without ever having been blanched. It all tasted bland, served without care and wasn’t value for money. Sorry.
