Budget Car Rental

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!Rented a vehicle for 4 days while I was visiting a friend. When I booked the vehicle they associate stated the fees of the rental and asked if I would like extra insurance for $45. As I was doing some highway driving, I thought it would be best. When signing the agreement the hold on my car was double the amount we initially agreed on. She said that half the hold would we reimbursed to me once the car was signed off on upon return. I thought that was strange, but I don’t make the rules. I had to ask a few times how to properly return the vehicle as the verbal instructions were not very clear. ESPECIALLY, because there would be NO ONE working when I retuned the vehicle. It took up to a week for the payment to be processed on my card and when it was it was for $500+! I called to confirm all the charges and see if the charge was a mistake. You could tell they knew they had taken advantage of me and had told me they’d call back after they went over all the details. I received a sheepish call back explaining that in fact the bill was correct and I signed off on $45 PER DAY of having the car! PER DAY!?!?!?!?!?! I don’t even pay that on premiums for my own vehicle or life insurance! I obviously was NOT happy about the charge that was more than double my budget for this trip! When asked if there was something that could be done, all I heard on the other line was, “No, ma’am.” So I’m just supposed to accept that you basically stole money from me, because of your own miscommunication. Not pleased, not impressed. Will NEVER rent a car with budget again. TERRIBLE company, terrible customer service. If I could give a zero star, I would!

Would give zero stars if possible. Rented a vehicle from here on Tuesday Feb 28/23. Picked up the car around 7:00pm. As it was dark and snowing and i had a 2 hour drive I left the location assuming the car was good. I drove approx 10km north and realized there was no windshield wash in the car. The following morning i looked and there was garbage in the rear door pockets as well as under the seats.The odometer was also out by over 3000km. I called the toll free number and complained and was told to see the local representative when i dropped the car off. I dropped the car off on March 3/23 at 3:00pm. There was no representative at the desk. I called the local number and was told to just drop the keys in the drop box and they would look into it. I refused and threatened to stop payment on my credit card. The representative showed up at 4:10pm. They told me they no longer do a walk around when the vehicle is dropped off. I complained to them regarding the vehicle being dirty and garbage left behind from the last rental and there was no response from them. There is no such thing as customer service from this location. Next trip to Grande Prairie definitely wont be renting from Budget or Avis.

Even one star is too many..I made a reservation through expedia for two days and it was $91 ( All tax include ). But they charged over $130 after I came back from trip. When I return a car, there was no staff at the counter so I could not confirm my final price. They try to steal your money with expedia. It was worst experience with Expedia and budget. Cheaters...

When they ask if you want full coverage know that it comes with Emergency Sickness Coverage that you probably dont need, but try to slip it into the coverage for an additional $26. Even though I am an Alberta resident from Calgary! Ask what it is and determine if it is coverage you need. Furthermore, the vehicle was filthy with sesame seeds scattered everywhere from when someone was eating a burger in the car. Dried up coffee in the cup holder from a spill. Now I know why the Enterprise line had more people in it.

Terrible communication. A lady with strong phillipines accent confrms I can book a vehicle with credit card and ID. I pay 50$ taxi just to get there and they say, i cant use my wife's credit card which they never confirmed on phone. These companies need way better customer service. That ask questions and give all the rules and regulations not just some

I booked online at the national site and the agent said I could pick up any time after 12 noon. Got a call from the local agent asking when I would pick up as they don't staff the desk unless someone is picking up so I specified 2 pm. I was there at 2 and waited around for half an hour. When the agent finally arrived it was to serve another customer and she seemed surprised to see me waiting.No one came out to check over the car before I drove off so I took pictures in case there was pre-existing damage. Drop off was the same, no one there, just a sign and a little piece of paper there to list the mileage and a key drop off.When I got my final bill, they had done the math wrong (thank goodness I kept all my documentation including the original booking page email) and calculated an extra 1000 km. And instead of .22 per extra km as per the national site, they charged me .25 so I was significantly overbilled. To their credit, Budget apologized after I complained online and refunded me $350.All in all renting from Budget involves a whole lot of trust, which is hard to muster given how little you see an actual person and how slack they are about their inspections and calculations. I think I'll try out their competitors next time.

Never rent from them again. Car was unavailable when I arrived and Tatiana gave me attitude and then changed her tune when I took her business card and she realized I was going to complain. This is NOT someone meant to represent a business. Really disappointing experience when fresh off a 9 hour flight and this is the first experience in Grande Prairie. Not a good welcome.

Very poor Customer service. I have booked several cars through Budget- GP airport location and never get a receipt for back up. I have to call to request a receipt everytime as no one is ever at the counter when I drop the car off. You have to fill out a sticky note with your rental details and drop the key in the box.When I called today to ask for the receipt to be emailed to me for the third time I was told to call back as they were helping a Customer. I guess I am not considered a Customer. I will be using another provider going forward. There are two others to choose from in this location. Budget doesn't even brush the snow off the cars or start them for you. Getting into a cold vehicle and having to brush off snow is not ideal with the amount that GP gets.

I WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER RECOMMANDE ANYBODY TO RENT A CAR AT BUDGET OR AVIS at Grande Prairie AirportThe worst experience i ever had in my life in renting a car was with BUDGET-AVIS at Grande Prairie Airport just few days ago, May 2018.1. The price on the reservation agreement, is not what i found on contract and even the conditions (damage waiver insurance, unlimited miles,...)2. No personnel stayed at the counter, Budget or Avis at Grande Prairie Airport, i called like 3 times to get finally somebody pick up the phone and that happened two different days.3. After long discussion with personnel at the counter, she did corrections but she debited me two times the wrong amount which is almost each time $115 over the price written on the contract and which i signed. Three days after they debited me again another unknown amount none written anywhere on the contract4. The car she gave me was not inspected nor clean. On the papers no damage was on car, after checking myself before driving, i found 3 damages on the car, i went back at the counter, showed her pictures.5. One day after returning the car, in total Budget debited me three amounts which don't appear anywhere on the contract nor the final bill.6. When i called the customer service the customer-care representative did not even let me talk and finish, he was impolite and hang up on me, while i was claiming my money.

Worst experience renting a car. Could not be worse than this. I booked the car or 10:30 AM and I was at the airport to pick up the car. There was no one at the counter. Waiting for an hour and talking to the customer services, calling many phone numbers and finally some one is there to help me to get the car.Now after a month I was checking my credit card and I noticed that they had charged my credit card 59.25 CAD instead of 24.15 CAD, for returning the car with empty gas tank which is absolutely wrong. Calling the customer services and explaining everything to them finally he said that they can reduce it now to 31.15 CAD!!!NEVER rent a car from them again
