Eastern Pearl Seafood Restaurant
A not so hidden gem of Port Coquitlam. The dinner menu is good albeit a little overpriced but it's the dim sum which earns this restaurant its rating. The food is authentic Cantonese dim Sum and its quality and quantity fits the price. Highly recommended.Be warned that it is especially packed for weekend/holiday lunches.

We have the Alaska king crab dinner. It is so delicious. Service is very good, server is very attentive. Highly recommend. We are from Winnipeg and this restaurant is recommended by a local friend. No disappointment.

Don't bother making a reservation as they'll give your table away and make you wait anyway. Very mediocre dim sum that wasn't even worth the wait in the end. They were so swamped when we came that they were seating people at tables that hadn’t been fully cleaned or were set with dirty/broken dishes. There was also a disturbingly strong and very unappetizing sweaty smell in various places around the restaurant. The worst offenders were the siew mai which looked like it had been dropped a few times and were bursting out of their skins, and the shrimp paste eggplant, with eggplant skins that had the texture and flavour of cardboard...

In terms of flavor, this has got to be one of the wosrt ones I have been to.Century egg and pork congee - flavorless. No salt. No base whatsoever.Hand shredded chicken salad - extremely small. Most places that give smaller portions have expensive jellyfish in the salad. This place is only chicken and preserved vegetables so there is no need for it to be half the size of the plate, smaller than other specialty chef items.Deep fried chicken knees - giant pieces only to find out it is 80% batter. The garlic salt and spice just sat at the bottom and the chicken was never stirred with it.Minced pork fried glutinous rice dumpling - the glutinous rice wasnt very sweetened. The insides were ok. The only good thing is that it came with 4 pieces instead of 3.Overall, the dimsum dishes were not very good. The prices are high with poor quality dishes. Maybe their dinner menu makes up for it.

I have been getting deliveries and take outs from this restaurant during Covid-19. Loved the dishes that I tried before and finally dined in for dinner. Food tasted so much better at the restaurant. Affordable price. Large portions. My favourite everyday restaurant. Cons: restaurant was quite busy today and 2-3waitress. We were lucky since it wasn’t busy when we arrived. But later, I saw others had to wait for long time to get serviced.

Dimsum was slightly above average as there could've been an improvement in the taste. Otherwise not bad place for dim sum. Great service and reasonable prices.Went 2day for dimsum. Service was very good and food was average. The SuiMai was very good though. For 5 dimsum dishes and 3 regular menu dishes the price came to $105.....expensive ???Dimsum average price is $8 and regular menu dishes are $20.

One of our favourite local place to go with friends and family for dim sum. It’s almost always busy so reservation is a must. Lots of variety for tasty dim sum treats. Beef brisket with rice roll, XO sauce stir fry radish cake are just a couple of our must haves. We haven’t tried all the dishes but all we have tried have been delicious.

EASTERN PEARL SEAFOOD RESTAURANT is a Chinese Restaurant located on one of the busiest streets, Shaughnessy st, in Port Coquitlam. There are many restaurants and shops in this area. So, people could easy to find this restaurant and park cars. We always passed this restaurant on our way grocery shopping at Safeway.20200819 My family decided to have a try at this place. Due to COVID 19, we decided to order take out dinner from the Eastern Pearl Seafood Restaurant. We have called in at 4:30 pm. The guy answered the call very fast and very friendly. I have ordered Beijing Duck two courses, Sweet sour pork, and Eggplant in spicy sauce hot pot, plus the duck flame (We always asked for duck bones when we ordered Beijing Duck. It should be free always). After 20 mins, my husband and I drove to the restaurant to pick up our meal.All the dishes have very nice representation even though they are in the to-go box. They all freshly cooked. Beijing Duck – Taste authentic, but only free pieces. I’m glad to ask duck bones, so we can cut off more meat from the bone. It was my mother in law first time having Beijing Duck. She was very enjoying the sweet black sauce too much. Sweet sour pork – One of my husband's favorite Chinese dishes. A Chinese stir-fry dish made with juicy pieces of pork tenderloin, bell peppers, onion, and pineapple. Battered pork gets fried until crispy then tossed in a sweet and tangy sauce. I am not the big sweet fan. But this dish is very tasty and delicious. We have served with our homemade rice that the whole family enjoys. Lastly, my eggplant in spicy sauce hotpot. It’s Cantonese style eggplant casserole. Mom doesn’t really like the tester of the eggplants. My husband and I love this dish so much. The eggplant is grilled until crispy and smoky, and then cooked in a rich savory garlic sauce. This dish is very satisfying, both as a side or a main dish served over rice.The price of the food is not too cheap and reasonable with a large portion. Highly recommended this restaurant to everyone. Hopefully, everything goes back to normal soon. Then, we can definitely dine in at this restaurant. Also, I would like to try its dim sum as well.
