Field Law
Crooked collection agency that doesn't provide proper receipts of payment when they say they will to the entitled payee. I'll be contacting the Credit Bureau of Canada regarding this. Also, doesn't attempt to contact a person but rather sends out one letter and then charges over $100/week thereafter. Very greedy and unprofessional!

I used Field Law for my real estate transaction for the purchase of my home. The process was smooth, my lawyer guided me through the steps and everything was seamless. Thanks, Field Law!

Spoke to Taylor regarding some employment challenges. She was every friendly and approachable,, however while the employment issue's I was facing were not complex, Taylor's expertise" was equal to that of an HR professional. There was nothing that she shared that was beyond my own knowledge.I wouldn't say the experience was bad but wouldn't say that I gained any information about my situation that I already knew. I wish I had gone to another law firm for counselling. I have also used Kahane law and have found them to be much more informative."

Abysmal.Steve Eichler spends more time and effort on his facial hair than his clients. He showed up late for every meeting, wearing his sweaty cycling gear, and hadn't even read my case file. Meanwhile I had to travel an hour to wait for him to get changed and catch up". He was under contract with the Alberta Teacher's Union

I was very lucky to have been referred to Field Law after being bounced around several other law firms and being told no one could help. I had the privilege of having Predrag Tomic in my corner and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. Predrag and his team are dedicated, compassionate, and they were very efficient in settling my case. I'd highly recommend Field Law.

I was referred to Field Law almost 5 years ago, Predrag (Peter) Tomic was who I was specifically recommend to. We came up with a long term goal, which ended up working exactly according to plan. I have very few complaints, communication could be a tad better with emails, but they were always on top of everything come the day. Of course everyone wants everything to be done for less, mine was not a cheap lawsuit, but who’s is? They are competitively priced and at the end of the day got it done in my favor while keeping me informed of my options in terms I could understand and while giving advice made clear it was still my choice. Overall a very professional experience.

We bought a home from Mattamy homes and elected to use field law to close the deal. Teresa (paralegal) handled our file. We were to close on the Feb 23rd but our file was not looked at until Feb 17th. This left us 3 days before closing in case any issues came up. I explained to the paralegal that she will see a discrepancy in our down payment of 45K that Mattamy did not list in the closing documents. She proceeded to tell us that its our broker that we need contact, as the banks instructions were incorrect. We wasted two days going back and fourth to our broker who stated after everything their paper work was correct, and didn't need any correction which turned out to be true. Once that information was given to me by my broker i proceeded to tell the paralegal again that its Mattamy's closing documents that are giving you all the issues. She didn't reply until the next day and seemed to be only working half days. We were only getting email reply's from her up until 2pm everyday, and on the night of Feb 22nd we needed answers. I called Field law at 4pm Feb 22nd and spoke with the reception and asked for Teresa. The front desk lady gave me her voice mail which i already sent two messages that evening to. Time was running out and i asked her if i could speak with the lawyer handling my case. She said everyone's gone home for the day, it was 4PM. Field law office hours say open until 5pm. when i mentioned that we are closing and i still don't have documentation, cant get ahold of my paralegal, and could risk paying penalties she didn't seem bothered. She took my name and number down and i got a call back from my lawyer. I explained to him the whole situation and he got ahold of the paralegal who then contacted me. When the paralegal called me around 6pm on the 22nd she didn't seem to happy she had to chase paperwork after hours. I mentioned that this was avoidable if she remembers when i told her about the Mattamy document and her tone changed and started getting upset over the phone. She tried to tell me that i didn't tell her from the start that there would be a 45K difference, but i said isn't this why we hire lawyers, to look over documentation on both sides? She told me over the phone that field Law works for Mattamy's interests and not mine. She didn't want to apologize or take accountability for her mistake which made everyone scramble at the last minute for an issue i highlighted the week prior. Her demeanor was unprofessional and rude. She had to contact someone at Mattamy after hours to get the correct balance which aligned with the lenders numbers. I will go to another lawyer next time, as this was a miss that was caught by me and not representation i hired. Customer Service is lacking here.

Dealt with Kim Beachum. Zero personal skills or empathy towards others. Abrupt and solely concerned about (ridiculous) money.

Collections agency that has 0 flexibility on reducing absurd interest fees. Left a voice mail, called back 4 times this morning, called the reception at 4pm to email the person in charge and finally get a call back at 5pm all for nothing. I asked what I can do about reducing the interest fees for something I had no idea was in collections for, the person just said pay by bank draft and laughed! In our case a home owners association fee, and nearly DOUBLED the amount that was owed in interest. The home ownership association has a failed to communicate as there is a disconnect when a new home owner moves in to mail the proper information to a new home owner.

We were overcharged by roughly $2000.00 for shoddy work on a simple residential real estate purchase. The papers were not properly gone over and Kristin Yarish engaged in excessive billing for work she obviously didn’t even do, creating a statement of accounts with obviously inflated time valuations. We were ultimately billed an already excessive tariff for the home purchase in addition to excessive time for communication and a bunch of “work” Yarish obviously didn’t actually do, to the tune of over $3600.00. We’d also consulted with Yarish and another lawyer in the past about another property law matter for which they proved equally useless. They clearly had little knowledge or intellectual ability outside of rudimentary black & white law, which, again, they grossly overcharged for. Law’s a tough business and I am loathe to complain about the individuals struggling in that environment, except when they take so much money for doing so little so badly. I recommend looking around before letting this firm take your money.
