This was my 3rd opportunity to have varied legal advice with Brookshire - in excessively stressful circumstances (Wills, General Advice, Property, etc). The lawyers and staff in every instance were efficient, gave the advice I needed and I would highly recommend them.

Had an appointment with Mr. Scott today. It didn't start very well as I was sent a meeting cancellation notice before our meeting time. This was an error, but then by the time he called me it was a few minutes past the start of the appointment, and I wasn't set up for a call I had been told wasn't happening -- more wasted time. During the call I seriously had the impression that my call wasn't the full focus of his attention.This wasn't a free consultation, this half-hour (scheduled) phone call cost me nearly $300. Also one of his interns was sitting in on the call and I hadn't been told ahead of time. I understand that you have to train interns, but it's a family law case where personal details are discussed. I said it was fine mostly because I was scrambling to take my webcam from one computer to the other. Maybe Mr. Scott can specify to his intern that he was demonstrating how NOT to consult with a potential client.This was me getting a second opinion, as I had spoken with a lawyer a few months ago. I know who I won't be calling again.

Brookshire has done an excellent job trying to be concise in communication to keep costs lower and they work with my employer EAP. We did manage to negotiate and sign my Settlement Agreement and they gave me a printed packet of information about how I could file for a Divorce myself using the separation agreement that we created. I'm glad I had help with the separation agreement even though I'm still not divorced.EDIT: The office saw my review and reached out to help me with the remaining paperwork! I'm glad that they were able to clarify some of the trickier parts of the forms. In only half an hour I feel much more prepared to file.

We held a 30 minute consultation call with Shawn Scott, and it went very well. He was very knowledgeable and helped us make a decision regarding our next steps. His staff Barb was very helpful getting all the details set up.

The fact that we find ourselves in a position where we must seek legal council is never a pleasant time in our lives.
