DRAINSCOPE - The Drainage Solution Company

I contacted them in April 2022 to scope the drains of the house we just bought. I was told that someone would come by sometime in May as their staff was tight. No problem. May came and went without hearing from them and I reached out again in June to see what happened. They said tight staffing again and said they’d reach out in a few weeks. This never happened so in mid-July I phoned Wet Coast Drains and they came out three weeks later on the date that they set up on the first call.I’d understand if Drainscope were simply short staffed but to drop the ball multiple times on basic communication is not acceptable. Their competition was happy to help me out.

It was both a pleasure and an education talking with Derek about my perimeter drains. He took the time to explain my options and got me started on the process of having the municipality upgrade my sewer and storm drains. In the end, a family member did the work but I would highly recommend this company for any future work I do.

After considering a number of quotes by suppliers and checking their references, our Strata Council chose DrainScope to inspect our perimeter drainage system and to identify problems and improvements. Our complex was entering its 19th year and had never had the drainage system inspected. DrainScope's quote for the job was the most professional—but not the most or least expensive—and their references were superlative. Their performance exceeded our expectations.Following the initial inspection, the DrainScope team, along with the essential heavy equipment, was booked for four days on site. All interactions by their personnel were very professional before, during and after the on-site work. Their personable team members took time to explain to curious owners what they were doing all along the way. When hidden issues were discovered (faulty original installation), DrainScope workers explained their alterations and why these were necessary. The team was very careful to protect our buildings and grounds throughout the process—laying down protective surfacing wherever equipment would be travelling on lawns, and keeping equipment/tools on plywood. They even washed down the laneways and roadways during their final cleanup.As a result of their efficiency, the team was able to go beyond what had been originally planned for the scheduled time, adding additional clean-outs and traps that had been planned for later, but which will make subsequent monitoring and maintenance of the drainage system much easier.DrainScope documents its work very assiduously with text, maps, and before-and-after photos. Minor issues that became apparent since project completion have been few and were addressed to our full satisfaction in a most timely manner by DrainScope personnel.As a result of our experience, our Strata is committing to an ongoing involvement with DrainScope and recommends them highly for these services.B. I’m so impressed by the level of professionalism and service that Derek and his team bring to their work. They repaired our water and I will use them again for any work we have done. Drain Scope did the best job i could have imagined being done.The company’s owner, Derek, came round to look at the job and I immediately felt trust and confidence. I knew that he had my best interest in mind and I had a sense of certainty that his team would do what was needed to put my drains in optimum working condition, and that they would do no more than was really necessary. Given that my house was built in 1941 that sense of reassurance meant a lot.My first impression of Derek/DrainScope was born out throughout the job. Talking with Leah, the office administrator, is like talking with an old friend. The on-site team are thoughtful and considerate to be as non-disruptive to my gardens as possible. These are intelligent men doing a great job. They obviously know their trade and care about their work. The foreman, Colin, has a great eye for details.We’ve probably all had work done that leaves us with issues down the road or the finishing details not attended to. With Drain Scope it is as if they are working on their own property. Perfectionism is a good description for the premise of this company.The rains came the day after they finished the work. We had a backup of our perimeter drains due to heavy rains on a Sunday. Derek's team came out the next day, found the blockage, and then worked closely with us over the subsequent days to address the problem and work with the municipality and insurance company.
