Really great place. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food. I tried the guanaquita platter and I would definitely recommend having it if you want a little taste of everything!

The restaurant is situated on the first floor and the door to the restaurant can be a little hard to find. I went here with friends who had been here before so I had no trouble. The food here is really good and they have quite some options for their offerings to satisfy all groups of people.Their Papusas are really good and is a must try!The Pastelitos were decent but the batter seemed pretty flavorless from my point of view. The tacos and Tamales were really good as well! They have a lot of options for the drinks as well. Their bulldog drink is really good and falvourful.Would definitely recommend this place! The parking is limited and varies depending on when you visit. There is free street parking but is very limited. There are also paid parking lots nearby and most are free after 5 pm Saturday and all day Sunday.

Absolutely delicious food! Highly recommend their sampler platters to try a little bit of everything. The frozen margarita is a must try! Make a reservation if possible (limited seating). A new staple for me in DTK!

Stumbled upon this place and honest the best spontaneous decision ever made. Service is ok but the food is amazing. I ordered a steak plate and asked for medium rare, my steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Very impressed and will be back again!

The Guanaquita Restaurant
Me and my wife found this place with a quick google search, while out for the day. Walking into a restaurant with a dance floor was such a unique, and interesting surprise. The food was phenomenal!! Muy bien! I had Mexican and my wife had Salvadorian food. We have Never yet been disappointed with Salvadorian restaurants. The servers were so courteous, and happy to serve us. Yes, I'd highly recommend this place!

This hidden gem is a place you need to try! The staff are always friendly and the food is quick.I always love coming here because the food is authentic and absolutely delicious! The food is inexpensive, and you can try a few items. The restaurant is clean, open and the booths are large. The bulldog Margarita is one of my favourite drinks to order, and I always start with the spicy salsa & chips. I always recommend this restaurant and will continue to come back.

The Guanaquita is well worth the stair climb to have some of the best El Salvadorian food that I've tasted in a long while.I ordered the combination platter which gives you a plate of 4 items from a choice of 5-6 items that include Papusas, Tamales, Pastillios, tacos and El Salvadorian Enchiladas.I ordered; 2 Papusas Stuffed with Pork and cheese, and 2 El Salvadorian Enchiladas as pictured. and to drink the HorchataThe Papusas are some of the softest I've ever had and filled almost to the edge with filling ensuring that every bite would have something other then Maseca. The Slaw is well made and not overly sour. The Enchiladas are also well made, the base was crispy and not soaked in too much meat juice, and the Queso Duro was a nice touch. The Pork filling was quite generous and more then enough to make sure it was noticed. If there is one Caveat I have to mention is that the Mild salsa was overly Salty, Perhaps it was a off day, but It was quite salty versus the more palatable Medium and Hot Salsa.the Horchata was ok. Lots of cinnamon.Overall It was a great meal and I would visit again next time i'm in Kitchener.
