If you’re contemplating training just do it and do it here ! i cannot believe how much they were able to fit in 6 weeks and not feel like it was rushed at all! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, My Gronky boy learned so much in the Teen manners class! i’ve shared with his Daycare and they will be sharing with anyone who asks about training as they’ve been SO impressed with Gronkys improvement ! Jim and I would like to thank Melanie for her wonderful training and tips for our Georgia. I enjoy going for walks with Georgia so much more now that Melanie has taught US what to do if she was pulling on the leash, also how to react when Georgia came across another dog or other people out walking. I enrolled in the teen manners classes for my English bulldog a few months ago. We only went for 3 out of the 6 sessions as I felt that my dog wasn’t learning anything new that I don’t already try to teach at home. Honestly, a lot of what they were teaching could be easily found on google or from a dog trainer on TikTok. It is very easy to teach your dog how to sit, lie down, touch, come, etc., which is pretty much what you’re trying your dog to do during the sessions. You could easily do this at home!! It didn’t help in any way with an instructor being there for guidance so I could’ve saved money by continuing my training at home. I was hoping for my dog to be obedient in social settings but they didn’t provide any guidance on that. They would tell us to distract our dog with treats or a puzzle treat mat if they barked/cried. My dog is very social so she wanted to play with the other dogs even though they weren’t allowed to do that for training purposes, I guess. Soon, my dog understood that the training sessions were an opportunity for her to keep getting treats when she barked. The instructors didn’t provide any further recommendations on what I could do. They would simply just look at me and expect me to keep feeding her treats to stop her from barking. If you are not tech savvy and can’t google some easy ways to teach your dog tricks or teach them to come to you, then this training could be helpful. Otherwise, save your money and just spend an hour a day training at home instead. Also, I feel like the instructors don’t care at all on whether your dog is improving or not. They didn’t contact me once after I didn’t show up for the last 3 sessions. Normally, you should be concerned and want to improve your business/training so each dog owner gets what they came for.

My wife and I had a personal session today with Melanie for our 11 month Bernadoodle. Melanie was so patient and informative we learned so much in just an hour. I highly recommend this training to anyone who has a puppy/teen/full grown dog with behaviors that need work. We registered our puppy in their puppy classes. It was very organized, concise, and helpful. Bonnie and her wonderful staff help train YOU to train your dog. Their training is based off of positive reinforcement and treats as rewards for good behavior. None of that 'I am the alpha' or swatting the dog on the nose, old school mentality.What you need to understand is that what they teach you is what you need to work on at home all the time. You can't just do the work in class and then go home and stop the training. It's homework. But the type of training style they teach you will be so rewarding when you see your dog be so happily responsive. I thought I was going to tear my hair out with my new puppy but Bonnie and her team help you to understand how to speak to your dog in a way so that you can both understand. Consistency is HUGE.Our dog is so wonderful. She's very well behaved and absolutely loving. And I credit Ocean Park for helping us shape her into the wonderful girl that she is now.

Bonnie is the most professional and encouraging trainer I’ve ever met. Not once did I feel belittled or shamed; I was treated only with kindness and respect. She is expert at reading a dog’s behaviour thereby giving ideas how best to positively impact and encourage me as well as my dog. Theo is slowly overcoming his anxiety and more happy to be in the big world, I’m so happy for him! Thank you Bonnie for helping me understand Theo better and for giving me confidence that I can continue to help him.

Very accommodating and knowledgeable staff. Our 1 on 1 class with Melanie was great. She seemed great with dogs, and we were given some really good tips for various issues with our new rescue pitbull. Will definitely return for more group classes.

Last year I adopted an adult chihuahua who is very anxious and fearful of people and dogs. He frequently reacts aggressive towards strangers, pulling on the leash and trying to bite. I am currently working with Bonnie to manage these behaviours. I was very impressed by Bonnie’s extensive knowledge of canine behaviour and her calm and trusting demeanour. She uses a positive reinforcement approach and takes the time to explain everything so you understand the reasons behind the behaviour and how to manage it at home or on walks. I have emailed her with questions and she always responds quickly and addresses all my questions/concerns in great detail. She is very flexible and able to work around my busy schedule. My dog’s behaviour has greatly improved since working with Bonnie. I would highly recommend her to anyone!
