The Paint Spot

Went to the Paint Spot for the first time at the recommendation by someone at Stylus, since I was looking for dip pen nibs. I was very pleasantly surprised at the range of supplies for calligraphy, including brush pens, nibs, paper, and paper, among other things. The staff saw me wandering around somewhat confused and quickly directed me to what I wanted, and were friendly and helpful. I will be going back in the future.

Staff are great, even if you are looking at spray paint they do give you time unlike some other stores. Being a spray paint artist buying a large quantity of paint it would have been helpful if they had large bags to accommodate for such thing instead of giving you a box to put it in even if it only take up maybe half the box. The area it is in isn’t the best and if you are going on transit please be careful as people will try and steal what you have purchased. Overall amazing store, great products, great service and well organized.

Amazing! The customer service was incredible and I feel as though they tried their best to make me feel welcome! (which they did) Will definitely come back to this store.

My previous visit to this store was wonderful and the staff was amazingly helpful. So naturally I kept this store in mind when I decided to shop for some boxing week bargains. I looked online and found a fountain pen I'd like to try at 50% off and thought it was a wonderful deal. In the description of the item, it showed that a free notebook would also be included, for a limited time, so even better! So we went today to purchase this pen and get the free gift, only to find out that the pricing for the pen with notebook was $20 more than listed online. So I mentioned it to the sales girl who said she had to check with, who I assume was, the manager. The manager basically said that it was a typo online and would not honor the online pricing. This really made me feel like the store was dishonest and had false advertising. In my opinion, she should've honored the pricing this one time and fixed the online description, since it was not my fault that the description was misleading. That being said, this experience has put a sour taste in my mouth and I don't think I will return to the store in the future because I feel like it has poor business practises. This is a shame since I think the store is a great art store and has great pricing, otherwise.

The place had decent selection of art products and I like their affordable prices as well but you might also find other products that have high prices. I found nice colors of paints and I bought 3 colors for our wall art decor at our house. The place was almost spotless and the items were organized properly. I also bought paint brushes for my brother since he also loves to paint.

Went in to buy some supplies and the girl behind the counter was very short with me when I was asking questions. She honestly made me feel stupid for asking, and it was overall a weird interaction. I would hope that at an art store, the employees would foster the arts and answer any questions kindly but that wasnt the case this visit. I have shopped here before and it was always great until today.

Felt like I was a kid experiencing ice cream for the first time. Had no idea what I was missing and couldn't get enough. Lovely staff, so much supplies I was in there for nearly an hour trying to resist buying everything in the store.

This is a fantastic local Edmonton art and paint store for all levels of artists to want to purchase any supplies they need for their artistic imagination. And if you are like me trying to get better at painting, you can sign up for a variety of art classes they offer year round,covering differeny styles and media. It is super close to Whyte Ave and they are part of art walk, promoting artists willing to showcase their work.You definitely should drop by and check them out.

I ordered online some Japanese paper for sumi-e, ink, fixative and blender pencils. The quality of all products is very fine, pricing competitive, packaging safe and secure. Thank you. My only wish is that some more crirical details could be added to the descriptions in the online store, which would also save valuable staff time from having to answer them on the phone. E.g. sizes for corresponding numbers of asian style paint brushes.

What a terrible experience.A friend gave me a gift card and when I went to put it in the payment section of my order it said it did not exist. So I called the store. The lady was unable to help. Explaining to me that it didn’t work like that. Isn’t that the whole point of a gift card? She said I could put in my credit card info and refund me. Yeah right. As if that was going to happen. The whole point of someone purchasing a gift card is to make someone else have a seamless transaction. I guess not.Update: ok thank you very much. Please contact me once this is able to work so I can process this transaction. I will update my review accordingly once this has been handled.Update: nothing has been done 3 weeks later.
