Shady Lane Cottages

What can I say?, this place is a must. The little cabins are not luxurious but they have everything you need. Located right off the strip and one street up from the beach makes the location unbeatable. So, if you're looking for a place to rest your head at night, an inviting and memorable experience, than Shady Lane Cottages is where you need to go. I just got home from celebrating a friends bachalorette and we had an amazing time. I do have to add that the owner is hands down the kindest and most accommodating host I have ever met. Darcy truly takes pride in his little cabin community" and it does not go unnoticed. Thank you Darcy

Just left from a great 3 night stay!! Darcy is the hostess with the mostess!! His quaint little compound of tiny cottages is literally tucked directly behind the main drag of Grand Bend and a 2 minute walk to the gorgeous beach....YOU CAN'T BEAT THE LOCATION!! We had an amazing time and can't wait to get back there!!

Anybody were able to get receipt for your stayvacation for tax purposes? We asked multiple times and there is no response from owner Darcy .

My 13yr old daughter just had her trip cut short at this place. She went up with a fiends family.Cottages on the site were occupied with jerks. They were up drunk at 3am playing loud music, knocking on the doors and windows of the other cottages. The owners were notified and did nothing!I guess if you like this type of atmosphere… this is the place for you!

We did a girls trip and there were 3 of us (28-30yrs old) and we absolutely loved our stay. D’Arcy the owner was so pleasant and easy to talk to - he definitely made the stay even better! He was always around if we needed something. The cabins are soooo close to the main strip , about 4 minutes to walk from cabin to main beach. There was enough parking spots and we were there for 4 days and only moved the car once to go to the pinery!! The air conditioning worked great, the cabins are pretty sound proof.If you are an easy going person and looking for a fun / relaxing weekend in grand bend these cabins are perfect. We plan to come back with a bigger group and rent multiple cabins!

Darcy was a amazing host! My 2 girlfriends and I loved the cottages and amazing courtyard! These cottages are so adorable and super affordable!! Shady lane was minutes away from the beach so no worrying about the drive down and finding a parking spot! I’ve been to grandbend 3 times and I must say this was the best experience by far! Darcy was super helpful with any questions we had while we were there! I can’t wait to plan a big family trip at shady lane next summer!

We recently stayed at the Shady Lane cottages as a larger group and the condition of many of the cabins was a complete disappointment.On the positive side, the location is very convenient and the host was friendly. However the state of many of the cabins caused us to cut our stay short. It sounds like they had been built in the 1930s and have had very few updates since then.Some of the issues:* Bedroom doors with no handles and no way to keep the door latched or closed* multiple windows with no blinds or curtains, those that did have curtains were just shower curtains* The smoke detector in the unit had been removed* Huge holes/cracks in the ceiling of the showers, often just held up by a random screw* Bedrooms with zero outlets to plug anything in* Rooms so small that it barely fit a double bed and a dresser* Bathrooms with no mirrors* Strong dank odors in many of the units* Dressers with drawers that would barely open* Requirement that you bring all your own bedding, sheets, pillows, blankets, etc. was an additional hassle

D'Arcy was amazing! Very friendly and helpful as soon as we got there he ensured our families had everything we needed and throughout our stay! The cabins have everything you need and the setting is perfect for large family groups to gather around eat and enjoy family time. A BIG BONUS was that the beach was a few minute walk from the main strip and the beach which makes it hassel free from trying to find parking. We will deffinatley make this a yearly gathering and will keep going back to Shady Lane!Thank you Darcy for the great experience!

Our family had a great weekend away here. Livable space for 4 adults, and 2 preteens.Place was clean and it was a 2 minute walk to the main street and beach!The cottage is cozy so if you are looking to staying inside or are accustomed to not roughing it, this place is not for you.Bbqs were available for everyone to use, living space was clean and the other groups were great!8 20 somethings were staying and made sure all other visitors were comfortable with them playing drinking games in the common area.The owner also assisted us with extension cord a and made sure the grounds were cleaned each night to avoid some friendly raccoons from making a mess.Overall we had a great experience and are looking forward to visiting in the future.

My boyfriend and myself spent a few days staying here, it was the perfect place to have a little get away, super close to the main strip, Darcy was an amazing host! Everything you needed was there, cottage are super cute and very clean! It was everything we hoped for and more! We meet some great people who were also staying there, it was like alittle community! We will definitely be back again next year!!
