Great time and maxed out our catch right away!We had an awesome time with Steve up in Ucluelet. Four of us went out and it took us about an hour to get to the fish but wrote when we did! We each maxed out our salmon catch in the first hour, we had four rods pulling at the same time. Then we trolled for halibut on the way home and it was relaxing but still pulled in three. Steve know where to find the fish and we had a great time doing it!

So apparently this guide likes to harass his fellow local fisherman fishing peacefully in an allowed areas.Calls people a poacher and accuses them of fishing in a Rock Fish Conservation area (RCA) when they were not and no where near one...... because he doesn't seem to know which areas are RCA and are not.When politely told he is incorrect this owner refuses to apologise or admit he was wrong.He should know what areas are RCA (Rock Fish Conservation Areas) and which are not... Would you trust a doctor that can't tell a spleen from a gall bladder to operate on you?There are many better guides in Victoria that deserve the business. I would recommend one if those instead.*** To the owner/operator - I recommend you educate yourself better on the RCAs.Stop arguing when more informed local fisherman correctly tell you it isn't or at least don't harrass them and embarrass yourself.Try to be a professional and act like one.

Had a great trip out with my brother. Steve was an excellent guide and took us to the fish! The boat was comfortable and well equipped…and did I mention the fish?! Thanks for the great memories Ocean Rambler.

Fished with Steve for halibut and lingcod at the end of July. The man did not disappoint! First five minutes fishing and nice keeper lingcod in the box. Then onto halibut. Steve put me on a beauty! By the end of the day, had my halibut, rockfish, lingcods, and a couple of nice salmon to round out the charter! Steve's fishing knowledge is second to none and his boat is fantastic. I highly recommend Ocean Rambler Fishing Adventures!

Tough review to write. We went out for a four hour salmon fishing trip and didn't even have a bite. Steve did take us to catch some rockfish / black bass after being unsuccessful with the salmon and we quickly pulled in 6 of those so at least my kids enjoyed that part. I understand that there are never any guarantees but I was hoping to give my kids the quintessential salmon fishing experience. It was my 40th birthday present from my parents, my brother, and my sister and so it was very disappointing to strike out on the salmon. Steve looks like a successful fisherman as photos before and after our trip have him catching lots of salmon. I guess I was put off a bit by the fact that he didn't even appear apologetic? That's a weird thing to say, but I got the sense that he didn't really care that we struck out on salmon. He also mentioned several times that he had doubles" all week (meaning a morning and an afternoon trip). He said he was tired multiple times

What an amazing fishing trip with Steve!! The weather was not very cooperative but Steve got us out an in to the Halibut and we had a blast.8 Halibut this trip. Thats a record for us.. The four of us will be back again next year. Highly recommend giving Ocean Rambler a go.

Steve was incredibly knowledgeable and continually adjusted gear, depths and locations to ensure we had the best possible chance of catching salmon - which we did.I would highly recommend him.

Steve is an amazing fisherman. This was my first time out sports fishing and he knows how to handle the boat like the professional he is and he knows the best places to find the fish!My third year out of Ucluelet with Steve; he’s the best, without exception!

We booked a charter with Ocean Rambler through our cruise line, Royal Caribbean. My brother-in-law and I took our sons out and we had a fantastic time. Steve put us on the fish and we caught 19 salmon in 3 hours! I would highly recommend him. He was great with kids too!
