I started schooling for medical office assistant at the beginning of this year but due to some personal reasons i had to drop out. It was around halfway through the course so in a little over a month my loans were going to come out. The school told me that i had to call Alberta student loans to cancel, when I called i was informed the school needed to call and by the time they did it was too late and my loans were taken out and paid to them. Since then it has been 5 months and Bredin have not paid the almost 6k they owe. I have called and emailed multiple people and they all are super unorganized and dont know whats going on. The financial guy ignored me after i continued to ask so I had to go higher up only to be told ill get the fire started under them" which was apperantly never started as my loans are out of grace period next month."

I'm in the MOA class at this college I have been in this class since the middle of September, we have had four different instructors since the beginning two of which were absolutely horrible. they didn't instruct or teach at all and with one there was an extreme language barrier nobody in the class could understand him. I'm not the only one that feels this way in my class of 17 I guarantee at least half of us do. We are in an extremely hard class right now called Excel we've been in this class for 2 weeks we finally got an amazing instructor and the college is pulling him 2 days before the final exam that is worth 40% of our grade. I would not recommend this college to anyone I would recommend staying far away and take your $30,000 and go to another institution.

Majority of the good reviews are employees. I was recommended by Alberta Works to visit Bredin to help me retrain. My experience at Bredin was terrible experience, do not waste your time seeking help for your career training/job search with them. Bredin does not care about their clients they only want you to be a labourer working a dead end minimum-wage job. They purposely postpone appointments, and have no sense of respect for your time. There is absolutely no urgency with your file. Always putting things off until next week, week after week. They never answer the phone, nor return your phone calls.Clearly the government funding they receive is going towards something else other than helping people who need it. I lodged a complaint with the manager only to be rudely dismissed, and ignored.

When I was still a student, instructors were really nice and supportive. You can easily approach them and always ready to extend a hand. I'm glad I made a decision to study again and took Legal Assistant Program and now I work in the field I truly enjoy.Even after I graduated, the school is still very helpful to their former student just like myself. I emailed them stating that I needed some documents and the following day, I got the documents. Oh boy! Truly a life saver and it was a relief. Thank you Bredin for your help and the opportunity.

If I could give this 0 stars I would happily do it. The WORST institution I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I took the Community Support Worker program through Bredin, started in October of last year and was supposed to graduate on September 3 of this year. Yet here we are, almost mid November, and I still don't have marks from one course that was competed MONTHS ago, also waiting for my practicum grade, over a month now(they were OVER A MONTH getting me my materials fo practicum, I didn't even start my practicum until after my graduation date). I was given the option of self paced learning after one instructor didn't like being called on their inaccuracies (they were marking me absent when I was in fact present and all of our classes were recorded and I'm recorded speaking in class the days in question, I was never actually absent, and I was receiving emails from my funding letting me know that my impending termination would indeed affect my funding and my ability to reapply), in the 10 months that we were in program with this college we had numerous different instructors leave, or we requested new because of the language barrier we couldn't understand. We had to switch up our courses on the spur of the moment because instructors wouldn't show up and they didn't know what they were going to do as a college itself. There is such a lack of professionalism with ALMOST each and every single member of the faculty(there is very, VERY few that are in fact amazing at what they do and are respected by me), its disgusting! 20/10 would NOT recommend!

The top things about Bredin College are:Its studentsIts instructorsIts mission and valuesIts leadershipIts workplace cultureThe college staff and faculty are extremely dedicated to their students and each other. It is an amazingly supportive environment with the new executive leadership team since summer of 2021.

I’m currently in the Accounting and Payroll Administration program. I chose the Self-paced option since I live far away from Downtown and I work two days of the week.Hands down this program has been the most frustrating experience of my life. Every course that I began requires a day of emailing back and forth with the prof to get access to the ebooks and online subscriptions. Student services are impossible to get ahold of so I have to wait till the end of the day when the prof is done teaching to help me with the issues. If anyone from the office emails me back it is usually a day or 2 later and then they tell me I already have the codes I need or they don’t answer the question I asked. They always say you can have an extension if need be but the one time I needed one (because my prof and I couldn’t get the course material online to work for a whole week) no one from the office would answer my prof so I just had to work extra hard to get the course done on time.

i Had an amazing time at the college, my instructors were the best part of the college. The coordination of the needs further improvement in terms of communication among students as well as the staffs of the college. For the Medical Office Assistant with Unit Clerk program..i will like to say they are one of the best in Edmonton. Thanks

this wasn't a good college, the former manager here was very rude, she made me feel like I wasn't going to be able to succeed in the MOA program and was trying to close the door on me as I was registering. I felt uncomfortable especially when it felt like this manager was shaming you for trying to go into a career you may be interested in. Even the practicum placement wasn't as good, I didnt get any kind of experience working in the front desk, I was basically locked in a seperate room with another student and all we did was run around the facility gathering information on each career advisor....I did not expect that especially when you had to tell the college that you have anxiety and they put you in a placement where they think you'd get experience working in an office but no....The teacher was great for a different program but to be honest, they were just trying to shut you down if they think you're not capable. The previous manager isn;t here anymore but I don't think i can recommend this college to anyone.

I graduated from my course (community support work) a year and a half ago and have not received my diploma. I have inquired with the school on multiple occasions and have continued to recieve a run-around and now no response at all. I can't help but feel this school is a waste of time and money. 10 months down the drain.
