Had to replace the carpet in my tenant's suite after he moved out and had the Finishing Store recommended to me as the place to go for good products, prices and advice. Carl - the gentleman who helped us - was outstanding. He talked us through a variety of products, answered questions knowledgeably while never dipping into condescension, provided us an excellent price and generally made the encounter pleasant and positive. Would definitely recommend them.

I was very pleased with my time at the finishing store they are very knowledgeable about a great many subjects, Friendly staff and excellent selection make this my new favorite wood related store ( which is saying a lot)If you want real service and not more of the same big box store dummies who actually know less about the products they sell than most consumers do then stop by this place it is a real gem. Real old fashioned know how and they go the extra mile they have a customer for life as long as they keep it up. You can tell its a family run business versus home cheapo for sure.Good work guys.

I can’t begin to express my appreciation for this incredible team. I have had such a horrendous time at other repair/renovation stores in all aspects of service. I know it has been tough for the industry lately, but the guys at The Finishing Store are simply a different breed. They are the most knowledgeable in their trade, as I have yet to encounter. I regularly drop in, to get their suggestions/approval on my product choice, especially as they usually have a better product at a better price. Apparently, I am not the only one, as I had a Home Depot employee laugh and say that he does the same, when I told my partner that I’d have to run the suggested counter-top past the guys at The Finishing Store, before I made a commitment. The Home Depot employee and I then got into a long discussion about how much we adore The Finishing Store and the team there.They genuinely care and seem completely happy to help, even if they don’t sell the product. They carry top quality products and wood, at the unbelievably great prices. If they don’t have the product that you want, they’ll order it in and if they can’t, they’ll direct you to the best place to find it. They are so sweet, kind, and helpful. Somehow, this group makes stopping in for whatever I need, the highlight of my day… which sounds weird, until you’ve met them.

Went to the finishing store as we are in works of getting most of our living area floor changed from carpet to vinyl. We were Hoping to pick out some vinyl samples and set up an in home appointment to measure and get a quote.Instead we were told that each sample required a $20 deposit to take home and would be returned when we brought back the sample (only floor store of 4 we have done to to request this) and were basically told the floor we liked was too expensive for the square footage we had (as in we didn’t have the money!?!?). Every time the employee gave a negative reason for our choice there was never an alternative solution offered.The only good thing about this experience (and why I gave it 2 stars) was that the employee mentioned United flooring had the same product so we went there and had a much better experience.

I spent months looking for the right flooring. I found a sample of what I wanted and went to order it. One of the staff said they had that exact thing coming in at a better price and they could install it next week. The couple of installers were their best, they said.The wood was not half as nice as what I wanted, found out after half install was done. The installer left glue in several places, impossible to get off.Don’t trust these guys, they lie to make a sale, offload cheap nasty Chinese product at high prices. So sad. I will never go back.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with The Finishing Store. Mark Arruda was personable, super informative and knowledgeable not to mention kind. Our installer Rob was efficient, kind and accommodating. We will definitely be going back to them whenever we can for any projects on our home.

In Windsor Plywood I can usually find the piece of materials that I need for my job, however June 6, 2023 I am helping my friend to purchase cedar sidings, after loaded the siding, we are locked in the timber yard! when I posting this view, we are still waiting for the footprint security to open the door to allow our pickup out… waited for over 1 hour and hope the security person come…. Today is hot…

We are very pleased with our new hardwood engineered flooring from the Finishing Store in Nanaimo. The staff were very helpful in explaining the product available and walking us through the process. They have extensive inventories to suit all budgets. The installation went well and the installer, Daniel, did outstanding work - very meticulous with every detail attended to. We will definitely do business with the Finishing Store again.

I have dealt with the Finishing Store for decades. Lots of fantastic responsibly sourced Canadian products. I wouldn't deal with anyone else.

The fellas at the Finishing Store are top notch. When in comes to customer service, these guys are as good as it gets. Very knowledgeable, helpful, professional and friendly.
