My mom had just bought a diamond ring and was very worried that it was either moissanite or a fake/lab-created diamond because of comments she received from some friends. Derek was referred to me by Monika LL Private Jewelers to have my Grandma’s beautiful 2.5 carat diamond ring appraised for insurance purposes. The process was so informative and professional and it felt like getting a story about the history of the ring too. I also brought a handful of other pieces (rings, strands of pearls, some gold pieces) for sight appraisal. From across the room Derek was able to identify the genuine pearls from the faux and he also gave me some advice about which other pieces to consider insuring in the future.
