My wife and I bought a 31 yr. old boat from the Ashville, NY marina. The entire staff treated us like we had purchased a new $100,000 boat. We had maintenance concerns, so they sent a mechanic out with me for an hour to assure me there was no problem. We are 70 yrs. old, have boated our entire lives and I would rate these men and women among the best. Highly recommended! j.

These are great people. We were about to start a full west-to-east transit of the Erie Canal and before even starting we dinged a prop and the generator quit (clogged in a non-obvious way).They squeezed us in the next day since we travelling, swapped the spare props on and spent 2 hours hunting down multiple clogs in the generator cooling system.The first one I had previously paid a different shop for, flushing the broken impeller pieces back out of the heat exchanger; that other shop took my money but didn't do the work. The mechanic here made certain to find and capture all the pieces, rather than let my bilge pump find them.The second clog was tough to find; a wad of Duckweed in the middle of a hose. But he found it, pulled it out and the generator has been perfect since.I'm grateful, it was kind of them to squeeze us in so quickly given how busy they were. I heartily recommend them.

Rob is a solid dude who's a straight shooter. He has been taking care of us since we bought our Sea Ray. From sales to helping with service to answering silly questions from boat noobs. He's handled everything from registration to assisting with the marina and making sure our boat is in the best shape for the season. Thanks Rob!!

Exceptional service and support. We were cruising the Great Lakes and needed our mast unstepped on our sailboat in order to transit the Erie Canal to get back to the Hudson and the Atlantic Ocean.Smith Boys bent over backwards to service our boat, gave us great information and advice, and even helped us out with a few issues we were having.I couldn't recommend these guys more. Great facility and awesome people.

I’ve never written a negative review in my life but I’ve had issues now with 3 Smith Boys locations. As a company they love selling you boats but are terrible when it comes to servicing them and customer service in general. Most recently our issue is with the Chautauqua Lake store. We made an appointment to have our boat repaired. We dropped the boat off and spoke to service with a detailed list of the repair needs. We didn’t hear anything back so we called them a week later and were told they don’t service that type of boat and nothing had been done with it. It sat there a week and nobody bothered to call to tell us this. They sell Malibu’s but don’t service them. According to the service manager they don’t have the training or tools to service Malibu’s. We lost a week of summer for nothing without so much as an I’m sorry. Very disappointing.

Smith Boys has always been a great place to get your boat serviced when you cannot do it yourself. I will always give them 4 stars for service! Maybe its just me, but their overall friendliness and willing to go above and beyond to make me feel special, to make it seem like they care that I'm doing business with them, instead of someone else and go that extra mile. Because of this, I have to drop my review to three stars.

Came into Smith Boys by sailboat down the Erie Canal.Our friend needed his boat pulled out of the water to ship it overland and they boat lift. They have been super helpful and friendly. Good people on the docks - some who live on their boats. They have bathrooms, showers, power on the docks. No gas, no pump out. There is a laundry facility but it was too far for us to walk to.

Rob, just wanted to say thanks for getting me into this boat AND setting me up in the best slip for me to home dock with this new vessel, at Smith Boys. The angle of slip entry, the current, the position: perfect! The boat has been exceptional, and what a prize purchase I think it was! Just wanted you to know that it was the courtesy, straightforwardness, and the SPONTANEOUS sea trial that really solidified the deal. I am so happy with this boat! If you remember, the Bayliner 2450 is what I swapped out of, and that boat was CLEAN as well.... But this boat is just in another class. Two engines are PERFECT, and a SOLID upgrade in boating! BEWARE!! Today I experienced the worst form of salesmanship available at you Conesus dealer. I made a deal with “Dannie” to buy a 17 Indian Motorcycle. He posted it on marketplace. I told him I wanted it, offered to put a deposit on it. My family has bought boats from Smith Bros before. I was told that it would be ready at 830 and no deposit was needed. I took the day off of work, drove 90 minutes to get there at 8:29am and be told the bike is sold. Absolutely beside myself how business like this can be conducted. Me, my family and anyone that is looking for a boat that talks to me will NEVER go to Smith Bros again. If you want a dealer to not stand up to their word and waste your time, go to Smith Brothers..I offered to put a deposit and was told it was not needed. I was never told first come first sir!! I miss the days when someone’s word was gold. Your dealers word isn’t worth the paper it’s written on and I have the messages to prove it.
