My mother died there during the first wave during the lockout. I was given inaccurate or incomplete information which gave me a false sense of security against the general panic everyone felt at the time. I now feel their energies 2 years ago in April went to covering up what was happening, rather than trying to save the residents. I repeatedly asked the manager, the social worker and the doctor (the doctor I asked three times and asked for a re-evaluation of my mother) whether it would be safer for her to be at home. I was told by each person that it is safer for her to stay. Given the fact that the staff and the doctor were working at several institutions while we caregivers were locked out, it is hard to understand why they would discourage me from pulling my mother out. All they had to say was it is 50/50. That would have helped me save her, because she hated being there. It was a transit bed, I thought we would work something out. Instead she died suddenly. Debbie Newton had a similar experience with her mother Nancy Newton at another Vigi. I, like a previous reviewer, would give it 0 if it were possible. The caregivers were not informed of the magnitude and immediacy of the danger instead they were sent reassuring letters. Rest assured...""

It was good a good visit a lady gave me a mask, and gloves and gown. And the staff was very efficient at taking care of my friend Norma Lewis.

My uncle was just rushed off to hospital with a blood sugar of 2, after basically being warehoused for 2 weeks in this facility. He also has pneumonia. We trusted them to look after him during a family emergency, and are astounded at the apparent lack of care. Would give zero star rating if it were possible.

After living with my father for thirteen years, and observing his slow transformation, it was right on schedule when the social worker recomended VIGI Mt-Royal. The care and staff are competent. It particularly benefits from the Greek contigent from next door Mile-x. In summer a nice terrase.

The staff are friendly and very helpful. Besides that my mother's healthy has improved exponentially in the three months since she arrived. I can hardly believe the improvement. It's remarkable!

After over three years, my father Dr. Paul Babarik succumbed to old age at the age of ninety and three days shy of a half.I had been my father's previous helper, so when he went to the CLSC (long term care) I thought I knew something, but the multicultural staff put me in my place and gradually at my ease. Good people, For real.Their is a large and strong Greek contingent, but all the communities of Mile end are here, the greater Mont-Royal conglomeration. They have good parking. The staff are pros, props 2 ROSE! The food is perfect for their old people palates, but not 4 me.Clients pay in proportion to their ability. We paid the max and it was peanuts for the 100% they gave (meds, bed, wheel chair, 2×showers, and TLC).Your parent will need a referral through the CLSC network if it is warranted.

The small handful of competent and caring nurses and PABs do NOT make up for the general gross negligence and inhumane neglect of the residents. PABs are often too busy socializing instead of helping residents. Do not put your parents there, it is not an accident that 100% of residents were infected with covid. I have never observed any training events for the staff. The neglect and lack of care for residents starts with the top ownership and management

BTW those who put 5 stars they should be placed in this facility for one week and come tell me how many star they would give by then! I don't think they will last one minute in there
