Viamede Resort

While the resort does need some up keeping, especially with damages from the storm early this year, my family and I had a wonderful time at Viamede. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and the amenities available. Loved that the hotel operates on an honest system, trusting that guests will respect the rules. Canoes, kayaks, sups and life jackets available for use at the beach. Breakfast buffet that you can casually walk in with all day tea and coffee available. Yes, Viamede is not a luxurious resort but it's a cottage vacation with extra amenities so you can kick back and relax. All the staff we encountered was amazing and friendly. Dining at Mt Julian is exceptional.

This was our second stay at Viamede, the first being a year ago after they suffered damage with the wind storm. Nearly all the cabins have been completely rebuilt over this last year and they are therefore new and gorgeous with excellent bathrooms, king beds, lovely linens and excellent mattresses. The cabins also have kitchens, fully stocked with everything except food.The waterfront is fantastic, playground great for small children, and nice availability of watercraft. The sauna and pool were great.The staff were extremely accommodating to our group the whole weekend.

We had a lovely 2 day mini vacation during March Break here. The grounds are beautiful. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The entertainment room had ping pong and darts and a nice couch with fireplace. They have full bar service. We stayed in the Mount Julian cottages. The cabin was nice. The beds comfortable. Great views from the porch.

We visited Viamede Resort for Thanksgiving dinner. The buffet meal was superbly prepared with an abundance of delicious options to choose from. The staff were extremely well organized and friendly. A pleasant atmosphere indeed with the dining tables tastefully decorated for the occasion overlooking the lake. Kudos to all for a most enjoyable Thanksgiving feast!

Great resort. Nice and relaxing with plenty of things to do in the area. Looking forward to returning to their recently refurbished cottages.

thanks viamede.we just had our Christmas party and had a great experience. food was great and all staff was awesome. we had resort to ourselves and yes a tiny bit dated but so am I.the staff made up for any short comings mentioned in other reviews. you can tell that they care about their job.

There aren't enough words to describe how great this resort is. There just aren't! Rooms are impeccable. Can't say enough about the staff. So friendly and accomodating to a fault. Ben also needs a mention as being so friendly and is a great host. I can't say enough about the fantastic food and menu. We tried to try everything, but that was impossible. They were all fantasically delicious!! You gotta go here!!!!!

The pool & gym facilities were clean and modern. Really nice lakeside with a lot of outdoor activities to choose from. Nice hiking trails. Dining room has lots of seating overlooking the lake, which was nice.The room we had was spacious, with a coffee maker and bar fridge, but it was poorly maintained - You could tell there had been previous damage that was quickly covered up (poorly patched walls, floors that were installed poorly). It smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke and musty wood. Mattresses were soft and you could feel the springs through them. The only good things about the room were the newer shower/tub and the linens (plush comforters and pillows). Not sure what the other rooms are like, but this one was definitely disappointing (felt like old motel).

We had a wonderful family reunion this weekend at Viamede. The staff were amazing and went of their way to make us feel welcome…The breakfast buffet was lovely and our dinners were delicious. We loved the sunroom and dining room space, and made full use of the pool and playground spaces. The weekend was topped off by a campfire with everything we needed to make s’mores !
