Review from second pregnancy 2020:This is my second pregnancy with Vera and first with her be colleague Erika. I'm very satisfied with the care I received. Vera continues to amaze me with her level of care. She is so very careful and will always recommend a pathway that ensures being safe rather than sorry. I am pleased with Erika as a teammate for Vera. Both are very knowledgeable and compliment each other well. Vera has a wealth of experience and Erika is closer to knowledge from school. Vera has a soft approach and Erika is more direct. I find both approaches valuable and complimentary. I had a home birth successfully and felt entirely supported and confident in Erika's care. Prenatal and postpartum support was thorough. I found in talking to friends who also had midwives that I was often quoting advice given to me by Vera and Erika. I'm not sure if they are more thorough as a team or if I just ask more questions as a patient, but I seemed to have more knowledge in comparison. Sometimes appointments start late but I think that it's because they will take the extra five minutes with you if you need it. Highly recommended.Review from first pregnancy 2018: Vera was a fantastic partner through my first pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. She always found time to listen to my concerns and respond with an evidence based approach. She is an excellent clinician yet understands the importance of being calm and confident to have the best pregnancy and labor possible, and does all she can to encourage this. I can say that we developed a partnership though the pregnancy which really served us during labor. I had a home birth, and though it was really hard, I never once doubted her competence and the care I was receiving. During the labor, I never felt panicked or worried, I had complete confidence in her. She has also been amazing for the postpartum care. She does home visits which is fantastic when recovering from a birth. Her approach is both in tune with healthy natural care (i.e. using coconut oil for cradle cap, air dry for diaper rash etc) but always cites evidence which gives me confidence in her recommendations.

Vera was an amazing care provider and I will always be thankful I found her! I had a rough assisted delivery and her postpartum care helped me through some of the most difficult times in my life. Her knowledge, expertise and compassion were so important in my recovery. I would recommend this woman to anyone, she is amazing!

2020 - what a year to have a baby! I was feeling emotional on my walk home from my final appointment as I reflected on the impact Vera and Erika had on my life. They both have a different style and make a great team. Their care is holistic, compassionate and always rooted in informed choice. There were lots of laughs and even some dancing in the labour and delivery room. I felt prepared and empowered to birth without fear. The post partum home visits are the reason I am still breastfeeding. I felt so supported in those early weeks when it would have been so easy to be overwhelmed. If there is a baby #2, I would not hesitate to work with Vera and Erika again!

I never knew my midwife would have such a big impact on my life but you did. I often remember you when I walk around my garden, look at my flowers, narrate the 1st day they were born to my kids. My grandmother always told me that birthing the child was the easiest part of motherhood. It's true not only easiest but for me also the most powerful and magical (and I am so glad I felt every single bit of that surging power and pain) You helped me start it off in that way! You were my guide, my mother angel of the hour! Thank you! I am so glad you are doing well. Take care and stay happy and healthy always. My sons are lucky that their mother choose you to guide her. They definitely had the best start to life and the tone will hopefully carry them through.

Vera was our midwife and assisted in delivering our daughter with Dr. Donnelly at Lions Gate hospital four months ago. She was a great advocate for my choice to try vaginal breech birth and I credit her encouragement and wisdom to my actually being able to do it. My partner and I will be forever grateful to Vera! Thank-you Vera for being such an important part of my journey. I am very conservative so i was unsure of using a midwife for the birth of my son. Vera ended up being the midwife for both of my children. The first was an emergency c-section and Vera literally held my hand the entire time. Her followup visits were amazing - she even brought me essential oil to help with my headaches. For my second birth she encouraged my decision to attempt a vbac. We had a successful vbac which was largely due to Vera and her persistence with the doctors. She was my biggest advocate and I always felt as though she was on my side. I had a few complications with the epidural and Vera called the hospital immediately to ensure i received immediate after care which allowed my to enjoy my daughter the first few days she was home. A moment you may only be blessed with a few times in life.You hold a very very special spot in my heart and I will always fondly remember the birth of my children and having you be a part of it.Sandy Shokar

We have had a chance to spent about year with this amazing people and I wish we could have more time. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend to anyone who would like to understand the way of giving a birth to contact them. Every step you take is yours and you get all the explanation and information to make the best decision. The honesty and professionalism are just few of many great qualities which you will experience. We had an amazing experience with Vera and her whole team - she brought confidence, calm and fun to our entire prenatal, labor and postpartum experience. The one-on-one attention was invaluable (including amazing mindfulness exercises!), as well as the abundant resources she made available through her library and community connections. There is so much we appreciated about collaborating with Vera and her colleagues during my pregnancy and postpartum. It was a really empowering experience for me and I could not have asked for better support people and midwives throughout this journey. Vera has such a thorough approach to the whole process, all the details, procedures and protocols. She is soft and nice and will definitely make you feel welcomed and taken care of. Safety is her priority. I feel grateful for the experience with her as our midwife. The choice was tough, so many options around.
