Veda Living

Pretty overpriced, all things considered. You pay for a bunch of amenities that most people probably won’t use. The gym is missing a ton of standard equipment, the lounge used to have fun stuff like a pool table, but they removed that and made it a seating area. The laundry situation is an absolute nightmare as there is only one laundry room for 2 buildings, lots of the machines are broken at all times, and ones that are broken don’t get fixed for weeks. Not to mention the system they have for laundry is completely over complicated. Management is also super disorganized, as they have little-to-no communication with the company that takes their rent and parking payments, so you end up having to confirm that you’ve paid them multiple times for the same payment. Also, expect not to see a good amount of your security deposit back, as they charge $200 if they have to send someone out to clean anything at all. I had 10 minutes worth of cleaning left behind, and it was still a $200 charge. Would be fine if it’s the only option you have, but if it’s not, I would not recommend living here.

I've been living at VEDA for the past two years and I have had nothing but a positive experience. Before I moved to Kelowna I was at university elsewhere and pulled a last minute transfer to UBCO, and the staff here at VEDA were able take me in with such short notice from my behalf and were beyond helpful through the entire process. The apartments are great quality and perfect for students who just want some space for themselves. The staff are genuinely some of the kindest people I've met and are always so quick to respond to any questions you may have, even if it's because you don't know how to open your blinds (I know I can't be the only one). I'd definitely recommend VEDA for any students looking for a space close to campus with a great community. (:

I lived at Veda for 5 years and don't have any complaints at all. The buildings are always well maintained, along with other facilities such as gym, games room etc. It's been a great place to stay at throughout university. Dealing with all the staff has always been great, including Jess, who is always quick to respond and will do her best to help you.

I've been living at Veda, in Apex, for about 3 months now and I love it here! Everything about the apartment unit itself is so cute and perfectly sized for one person, and the design is so modern too. Perfect amount of space for nearly anything - at least for me. The floors are a little thin so you can hear your upstairs neighbors, but I'm personally not too bothered by it. I assume the walls are thicker since I can't hear a thing from my other neighbors. The views are great, the games room and theatre are really nice extras as well. Overall, I've had a great experience at Veda and I'm probably gonna spend the next two years here!

VEDA has been an amazing place to call home for the last 4 months. If you're looking for a studio with stellar views then this is your spot. It's got a hidden trail, plenty of rooms to get work done and a nice gym set up. Plus the veda crew has been awesome at organizing events even in the mist of a pandemic (shout out to Chloe, Jess & Shane).

The staff do a wonderful job of making Veda feel like a community. There are lots of social opportunities (at yoga classes, pizza nights, paint nights, the gym, the pool table, & in the TV room). The facilities are new, clean, & a 10min walk to UBCO.

Very small and overpriced studios for students barely able to afford to keep themselves fed. Management is impossible to reach and rarely respond to maintenance calls. Parking on academy hill is atrocious and building management is very quick to have people towed. Underground parking is overpriced and unsafe as there have been many breakins and thefts. Eager to take your money and while it may be consistent for Kelowna rental prices it is still expensive for what you get (amenities not great/closed sometimes/laundry machines are either filthy or out of order). Overall decent for being close to the school or for short term living

I would not recommend living here at all. The space is extremely small and cheaply built. The windows in the rooms do no have screens on them and the air conditioning blows dust all over the room. I had to dust daily. The wifi is terrible and they shut it off completely in august, in the middle of the summer semester. They claim to care about students but charge an insane amount for rent, have sub par amenities, and will not even provide stable internet. The move out inspection is ridiculous. They make you pick a time frame and wait around until someone comes to inspect your unit. No one ever showed up and I waited for two hours while trying to get ahold of someone. I had a very, very unpleasant time living in Veda and would not recommend it to anyone. Pay the same amount of money (OR LESS) for a suite downtown. The commute is worth it.

I had a job lined up in Prince George, as VEDA has a location there, as a resident doctor working in the hospital. Unfortunately I found out my job was delayed a few months so I was unable to move in. I found this out 2 days after signing the lease. I let VEDA know about this immediately and they were unable to cancel the lease. They are now charging me 3 months rent for a place that I have never lived in, in a city I have never been to. Avoid at all costs. This is a predatory organization. I know my experience was about Prince George and not Kelowna but BEWARE!

Lived here for 2 years and it was decent. Rent is pretty cheap considering other places on the hill are around the same price for a single bedroom in a 4 bedroom place. Amenities are nice if youre someone who likes to go to the gym or hang out with friends not in your apartment. Study rooms are also really nice; only thing that was an issue in the last 6 months I lived there was the internet, ARCWIFI is not very good, disconnects, constantly went down and they never answered their phone when tenants tried to call. But overall building staff is very good at their job at VEDA and I would love to live there again if I have the chance :)
