Ippon Karate Dojo

My son has been with this dojo for 10years. We have had the best experience with Adam and his team. The level of training he provides our community is fantastic. Adam treats all his athletes like they are important no matter if you are on the provincial team or just out for the exercise … he is so kind and caring and truly makes these athletes feel like they are part of a family. Thank you Ippon for a great experience.

I've known Adam for most of my life. He helped me achieve all my karate goals - achieving my black belt and being on team Canada. He is truly one of the most incredible human beings I have ever had the privilege of knowing. His karate knowledge mixed with his personal training, he knows how to bring out the best in people. He is a healthy and positive influence on anyone who comes in his life. Kids will learn discipline as well as respect for all. A commendable attribute of Adam is how he reminds everyone in his class that obligation to family comes first, then school, AND THEN karate. He is understanding and helpful and makes class a lot of fun! Challenging, but in the best way possible!

If you want to join karate, this is place for you. Even for children as young as 4 years old. Adam and his team really know their work. They are passionate about it. You are an athlete or just a fitness freak or a novice.. I mean whatever they are there. I have seen Kristian: he is amazing with little kids. The way he engage them is awesome. Hats off to Adam and his team!!

Our 7 yr old son started going to this dojo about a month ago with the free first week of classes. The sensei, Kristian, is absolutely amazing with the younger kids and my son after the first class was very excited to continue going. Kristian is really good with introducing respect and discipline to the young kids which instantly made us comfortable signing our son up for unlimited classes. I highly recommend this dojo.

Imagine teaching your mom karate... I can only say thanks sensi without your persevering I wouldn't be wearing that much coveted black belt. And now the learning begins.

I have two kids 11, 12 - a girl and a boy- training at the dojo for the past 2 years. They both love the dojo and always enjoy the classes. I love being able to drop them off at the same time. They have really built strength and confidence over the past few years of training. I know the instructing is top notch and am excited to some day see them compete.

My son began with Ippon when he was 6, he is now 16, a black belt and a Canadian champion! Karate has provided my son with an incredible amount of discipline that has transferred to all aspects of his life and has made a positive difference in his life. He has travelled Nationally & Internationally to compete. Prior to choosing this dojo we checked out a few in town and choosing Ippon dojo was an easy choice. Sensei Wackershauser and all staff are incredible leaders and they have been such role models for my son. I highly recommend Ippon! It is truly one big family atmosphere and you won’t regret it. :)

We are so blessed to have one of the top instructors in all of alberta, right here in Cochrane!Sensei Adam is amazing at honning in on each individual's learning style, and his passion for the childern, and the community is so admirable to me.It really matters where you place your money. It truly shows when these kids, and adults, and even senors come out of their grading and tournaments with all their belts and metals.

Great Dojo for Kids through to Adults! Adam is an exceptional instructor with first rate knowledge and delivery of martial art and fitness techniques. My husband and I attend his classes and we always look forward to learning something new with each and every class. We like that the dojo has many class time options through the week and even have open mat times to come in and practice on your own. If you looking for a dojo that will bring out the best in you this is it!

4 years with Adam's dojo.Our daughter grown from her 5y.o. until now. Efficient training. Fair opportunities for growth in shotokan skills as kata as kumite/sparing, competitions participation. Good couches. Very recommend this dojo.
