When my wife's MacBook Pro died a few months ago (without a recent backup) we realized we are in trouble and will never get her files back. The laptop in question has a non-removable SSD drive that is permanently soldered onto the main logic board with no way of removing it to recover the files (according to the Apple 'Genius' bar technician). Apple repair offered to replace the logic board, which would mean a brand new, blank SSD would be installed, and all our files lost. In addition, Apple would NOT return the old logic board to us, so we could try to have the files recovered elsewhere!!!Then, I found out about Bill & Dave (by recommendation from a Canada Computers employee). I contacted them and they took my laptop the same day. I paid for the rush" service

This place is terrific! I have always been super happy and very impressed with them. Aside from the great service I've personally received, I've seen how they treat other customers, they really do whatever they can to provide excellent service. Dealing with the public in any sort of service industry can be extremely tricky and Bill & Dave's really handles all the situations I've seen really well. I highly recommend Bill & Dave for your electronic repair needs. Dave always has customer satisfaction in mind and is a great guy. As one example, I came into the shop with a particularly unique problem with a custom upgrade job on a laptop. They spent time with me troubleshooting and trying to identify the root cause. They could have easily brushed me off but they took an interest in the problem and offered several expert opinions. Ultimately one of their suggestions paid off and I managed to fix the problem. They charged me a very fair price for the diagnosis and testing and I was very happy to pay them for their time and help. Thanks Dave, keep up the great work!

Poor communication and missed deadlines. They forgot about my device for about 2.5 weeks when I first dropped it off (I appreciate them being honest about that), then their supplier sent an incorrect part, then they failed to provide a quote for repair by the date they set for themselves. Their online portal was rarely updated and consistently out of date, and it took multiple texts typically over about a week to hear back by text. I generally felt their priority was their corporate clients. They were nice and Suki was helpful, but I won't be going back.

I bought a instax printer sp2 two months ago, but it hasn't been shipped so far. I have tried many times to contact them by email and text messages but haven’t received any reply.

This was my first experience with Bill & Dave Computer Repair and I was extremely pleased by the level of service. They were responsive, forthright, and fair in their pricing. I'm only mildly tech-literate and am always wary of handing over my gaming PC, but it was clearly in good hands! I'll be returning for their services in future.Edit: My more recent experience with this business was singularly disappointing, and I’m hard pressed to explain why given my past good experience. They’re in a new location, so I don’t know if ownership has also changed.I dropped off my gaming PC after experiencing some abrupt crashes. They were unable to replicate the issue or diagnose the problem, which happens and is not the source of my dissatisfaction. Unfortunately, when the PC was returned to me, none of the USB ports were responsive and so I was unable even to log onto Windows. I emailed and texted but received no response for over a month, so I put in a new service ticket and, still receiving no response, drove my PC back out to them and dropped it off. I was then told that it had died on the table and was unusable. They refused my request for a partial refund of the nearly $500 I’d recently paid them. Labour fees are understandably non-refundable but I’d also paid approx $150 for data migration that I can no longer access, along with x amount for new parts installed in a now bricked rig. I was instead offered a different refurbished unit to buy for $1,200.I was also very put off by the change in tone before and after my PC died. Before it died, I’d asked if maybe I needed to consider getting a new PC and was told that no, as far as gaming rigs go, it was not particularly old and should still run well. After it died, suddenly the parts were “quite old” and I should buy a new gaming PC.Needless to say, we’ll be going our separate ways and I would not recommend these services to colleagues or friends.

It was challenging to fix my 5-years-old iPhone as Apple no longer has parts for this model. Finding a place with knowledgeable and honest staff can be challenging too, and it's very lucky for us to find Bill & Dave and go with them.I didn't know that I needed to give them the passcode to my phone the first night I visited, and I didn't feel comfortable giving it as a lot of privacy it carries. The technician who talked with us was very understanding and told us it was OK to change our minds. The second day I reset my phone and dropped it to them again. It took longer than they expected to detect the problem and eventually fix it, but they kept us posted at every stage of the repair, and the communication was very clear and effective. We got the repaired phone after 3 or 4 hours,  it was fully repaired and functions very well.The warranty they offered together with the repair is great too. I accidentally dropped my phone the next week and caused the same problem. I contacted them and they quickly fixed it for only ten minutes, and Bill also gave me a lot of great tips.THE SHORT VERSION: Great service, amazing staff, effective communication, perfect result. I will go with them again and recommend them to everyone.

Waiting on PS4 VR headset repair. So far they have been very good about updating when prompted. If you call in for an update the auto response will always try to get you to just check the website which is not always updated (as many comments in reviews suggest) however, if you wait on the phone to speak to their office you can get a real person who is very lovely and will provide a real time update. Happy with the customer service so far and can’t wait to get the unit back repaired :)

From the submission form online to the delivery of the service. Outstanding. They give me a detailed quote and answered all my questions.I paid the rush fee and the battery arrived when they said it would. While waiting for the arrival of the battery, I purchased an aftermarket charger. Unfortunately it didn't fit snugly but luckily the day of the repair, they had a used original charger that is actually SMALLER than the original thereby making it more portable! They even bent the charging port slightly to improve the fit.Despite being only 1.75A, the computer charged to 95% in 1h45, and 100% I believe in 2h15 min.Their receptionist Suki also was fantastic as she answered all my questions while I waited in the car by text.Worth every penny.

Sent them an email to ask what the price would be for an HDMI port repair on my PS5, they replied back saying it would be $198. So I submitted a service request through their website only to find out that it's $198+ tax plus $85+tax as an admin fee". Such a waste of my time when this information could have been provided to me when I asked for it initially. Not only that
