This is a family-friendly restaurant, serving a wide variety of good food. They have a short but good selection of beer and wine. And the dessert menu is awesome.The service is friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable. The premises are clean and airy and wheel-chair accessible.

Not your typical breakfast restaurant. Our first time going there & we were very impressed. It has an upscale appearance but with a more casual atmosphere. Good selection to choose from & reasonable prices

I love this restaurant! The waiters were amazing and very accommodating, they were almost empty at 8 but the food wasn't bad whatsoever. We got crepes, a cookie, chai latte, clam chowder, and a chicken and vegetable soup and they were all delicious. The soups tasted gourmet, the crepes were delicious, the chai latte was smooth, almost like an horchata, and the cookie was perfect for a sweet tooth, I recommend you share it! They also have a bar and a cafe" area with cakes and coffee. Great place for a date or a family outing!"

My negative review has nothing to do with the food.My family and I were regular customers. Once a month since we arrived in Cobourg over a year ago we ate here. At our most recent visit our server did not inform us that a regular discount was not offered that evening, despite my referencing it during our order. When the bill came and I asked why we were charged for something I had clearly stated we had come in for on regular discount the server admitted his mistake but that we would have to pay regardless.The manager on duty was equally unwilling to compromise in any manner.I wrote an email to both ownership of the Cobourg franchise and ownership of the chain and after a week I am sad to report that neither bothered to even respond.We are now former regular customers and will ensure that our negative experience is shared with as many people in our network as possible.A small act of compromise or empathy would have kept us as regular, paying customers but Symposium Cobourg has repeatedly shown us that they have zero interest in addressing our concern, not do they seem to want our regular business.

Visited with a group of 10 (8 adults & 2 toddlers) which they were able to accomodate comfortably. The place has plenty of space and big windows that bring beautiful natural light inside, 4/5 for atmosphere. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful, even the chef came out to help serve us at some point. However our server was a bit passive-aggressive with her comments during our visit, which warranted the 3 / 5 rating for service. The food I gave a rating of 3 / 5 because the omelette I ordered came with undercooked vegetables (peppers), however the home fries were great.

A friendly and comfortable place to have a wonderful meal. We went for breakfast. Their menu offers all the traditional fare with a couple non-traditional- try the Cuban Breakfast Sandwich! Crystal, our waitress, was friendly, prompt and attentive. Definitely will go back.

We went for brunch! The server, Crystal, was prompt seating us and gave us our menu’s while asking for our drinks. The food was served and was asked about condiments, the food was served and still hot, great job for the chefs! Everything was cooked to perfection, we enjoyed the whole experience! We would definitely go again and ask for Crystal to be our server! Great job! Keep up the great work!

Symposium Cafe Restaurant Cobourg
I’m from Calgary visiting with my grandfather. We decided to stop into the Cafe for lunch. It was a beautiful atmosphere and wonderful service. Our server did an amazing job looking after us and making us feel so welcome. The manager was very friendly an encouraging us to enjoy our experience in her clean and enjoyable restaurant. The interactions with the other guests were awesome the other guests, all of them wanting us to enjoy the town of Coburg as much as they do. Especially the guy in the booth behind us. I think his name was Larry, he was a very funny character. We highly recommend Symposium Cafe and we will definitely be back soon.Have the best day ever!!
