Be wary of last-minute change to the room with no river viewI don’t recommend this motel for anyone looking forward to staying right beside the river.Although I booked a “river view” room one week before, the owner claimed that there was over-booking upon our arrival, without any notifications/messages beforehand, and changed our room to the one in another motel property across the highway (10 mins walk from the reception). With an insufficient compromise of only 5 dollar discount per person, we had no choice but staying in the overpriced outdated room with no such river view shown in the pictures posted on the room we booked.Looking at the several other reviews saying they were treated in the similar way, there is high possibility that the owner is deliberately taking advantage of this self-claimed “unexpected” situation to accommodate more people to one of their rather unpopular property without the guests’ prior consent.Motels and accomodations certainly have impact on how one feels and looks back about the place. Lack of sincere apology and a sense of dishonesty they showed would never benefit this beautiful little town.

Beautiful and quiet…Very relaxing here…Went for a walk around the land, took in the fresh air and even spotted a whale.Owner is nice, spoke to him for a couple minutes. No stress!

Although the view of the st-laurent river being very nice, the interior was lacking from any form of modern technology and the neon lights were killing the rustic feeling from this really old and authentic log cabin. Lots of light switches although half of them were installed the wrong way and most of them weren't working at all. Not enough parking space for a 10+ people cabin.

Nice motel and cottages right off highway #138, close to the ferry and town. Beautiful views, there is a public beach a 2 minute walk away. We stayed in the one level building, great view and good for late day sun. There’s a sitting area right out the door of the room and chairs and tables set up in the yard for an even closer look at the water and all day sun. Book room 23 at the end of the building for best views and sun. We rented room #17, 2 beds, TV, full bathroom, mini fridge, coffee maker, (bring extra coffee), but no microwave. Try to get food early or before you arrive here. Restaurants close early and the only one we found open late,(8pm), was over priced, small portions and not tasty...although the staff was friendly and helpful. There is a gas station/grocery store just up the hill as well.

In the summer vacation in July, a few of our good friends plan to come to this sea view room for vacation. The sunrise can be seen every day, which is very beautiful. We were very lucky to see the white dolphins. The room is just right for a family of 4.

Stayed at the 8 person chalet which is right on the main road but has good views of the St. Lawrence River. Similar to few previous reviewers, we booked through Expedia however the owner didn't have our reservation however was able to get through the check in process thanks to Google Translate. Chalet was a bit musty initially but once the windows and screen doors were left open for a bit that solved the problem..Place is very clean and well equipped with kitchen equipment ( pots , pans, cutlery, dishes etc.) washer/dryer, extra blankets, pillows, towels and toilet paper. Has a TV with basic TV channels (1 or 2 English channels) in the living room area. If you are ok with the noise of transport trucks thundering down the road occasionally then this chalet is a great overnight stop to Saguenay Fjord National Park. Dont leave the doors / windows open unless you use the screen doors/windows with mesh as there are a lot of insects.

Guy at the reception desk took some serious advantage of my lack of French. I had made a reservation for some 75$/night a couple of months prior for a wedding, but when we arrived he claimed he had no reservation under my name. Told me the only thing he had left to reserve was a chalet, at 250$/night. Did not offer any kind of reduced rate despite screwing up my reservation, and I didn't have enough command of the language to argue with him over it. When we dropped down to a one night stay, he told me we could do our second night in a motel room for 85$ (what happened to the original motel room price??). We declined, seeing as our projected $160 stay had suddenly ballooned to $250, for half the time. When we got to the wedding, several other guests told us they had similar issues, with quoted prices suddenly being higher when they went to check in or reservations being changed without their knowledge to more expensive rooms. The hotel also called the bride and groom the day of the wedding to let them know that the reservation made under our name had never showed up... so the guy at the front desk either lied to us or simply couldn't be bothered to do his job properly. DO NOT stay here if you can't speak French impeccably... they WILL take advantage of you. Such a shame, because the view was nice.

Motel, chalet- cottages perched on hill with refreshing breeze, incredible views seen sitting either on your balcony or sitting in Adironach chairs overlooking St. Lawernce-- mainly very peaceful, large tankers floating by in distance.Activities close by -water, family picnic area, beach, tides , birds, ferry crossing.....Room was very clean, spacious & nicely decorated...

Besides good location & building unfortunately cheap maintenance and at least 20% pricy than its level. All Doors are almost not fit either not close like our bedroom or must be pushing hard to entrance door to open! Be ready for early check out at 10:30 as this Motel regulation! Have your own Hairdryer as No Hairdryer in bathroom! no grid at entrance door, if keep it open for fresh air be ready to have 100rd of mosquitoes & other bugs to be your guest all night !! Window curtains are almost damaged and out of line, be ready to be seen if somebody passing your room from corridor !! Also prepare your own ice too as there is no Ice Machine in this Motel

Owner scammed us; said he had lost our booking, but he could fit us into another motel room. After we got moved in and unpacked, he 'found' our original booking and said we could move to the original room or pay an extra $30 to stay where we were. We stayed, paid the money.Room was clean, bed was okay, nice view. Decent place to crash if you're waiting for the ferry, and everywhere else is booked, as long as you're not getting worked.
