Kathy Smith Sewing Machine Repair

I would highly recommend Kathy Smith for the work she did for me. I have a 45 year old Sears Kenmore sewing machine and I needed to find someone to give my older machine a service and to adjust my tensions. I read Kathy's good reviews and emailed her my request. The next day Kathy called me and arranged a time for me to drop my machine off safely at her home. In just one week, Kathy called me back and told me my machine was ready for pickup. I was impressed she was able to do it so quickly. She adjusted the tensions and gave it a good cleaning and oiling and now it works like a charm again. Her price was very reasonable and she was a pleasure to deal with. With over 30 years of experience, I knew she was the right person for the job. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kathy to anyone who needs her talents.

I dropped off my moms serger 7 weeks ago for a cleaning only (the machine worked, just not well) and I've been trying to get it back from Kathy ever since. She won't return my property. She doesn't answer the phone (ever)! The only times I have spoken with her is when I surprise her on her doorstep asking to get the serger back either fixed or not. I do not recommend this business at all.

Kathy has over 30 years experience working with sewing machines. She is honest and straight forward. She often spends more time than she charges for on difficult machines because it's important for her to get the machine working 100%. Some machines can't be fixed and in those cases she's often doesn't charge any fees.

********UPDATE. Kathy finally returned my call and I have picked up my machine. She did explain that she had an issue with her phone for the last month. So for a final update I am happy to get my (still broken) machine back, and feel that this is a very unprofessional home based business.********ORIGINALI brought my sewing machine here to get repaired. I was told couldn't be fixed by Kathy. She did let me know that she could dispose of it and I told her no, I would pick it up. I have been calling for the last 3 weeks trying to pick up my machine. She will not answer or return any of my messages. The last message I left after 3 weeks of trying to pick up my machine was that I have now considered my machine stolen and gave her one last chance to contact me so I can pick up my machine. No answer yet again. I have had no choice but to fill out a police report. I will update this review If things get settled as I am only interested in getting my sewing machine back as I do not believe it is bad enough repair to be desposed of. It's less than 6 years old.

Kathy tuned up my machine in a few weeks which is awesome considering the times we are living in today. She is a true professional repair person and my machine is running like a charm. She returned a couple of quarters that my granddaughter deposited in the machine as it looked like that's where they belonged!I would recommend her to anyone needing such a service.
