Don’t do mortgage with them. They will cancel your term when you receive a low rate.I would rate 0 if I could. My husband and I signed a 4.8% mortgage rate with them in May. At the end of June, they emailed us to cancel our term because they didn’t expect Bank of Canada’s interest rate decision in June, which drove an unforeseen funding cost for them.It’s only one month before our closing date and we need to redo mortgage with a rate over 6% lately.Why should customers pay for Shinhan bank’s assessment failure?My broker said she never encountered this situation in her over 10-year career.

Purchased RRSP today. I received a great rate for my RRSP and the service was outstanding as well; very quick and efficient.

Pretty bad experience. Applied mortgage a few month ago, and get 4.8%. however, after BoC raise the rate during June, Shinhan cancelled the deal, we have to find another bank with higher rate. Shinhan wasted our time and money, most important, waste customer's opportunity to get a better mortgage deal from more reliable banks.

Don’t do mortgage with them!!!!Don’t do mortgage with them!!!!Don’t do mortgage with them!!!!They have no qualms about canceling your term as soon as you secure a low rate. If I had the option, I would give them a solid 0 rating. In May, we committed to a mortgage rate of 4.8% with them. However, towards the end of June, we were taken aback when they sent us an email notifying us of the cancellation of our term. Their reasoning? They failed to anticipate the Bank of Canada's interest rate decision in June, resulting in unforeseen funding costs for them.With only one month left before our closing date, we are now forced to redo our mortgage at a significantly higher rate of over 6%. Why should customers bear the burden of Shinhan Bank's incompetence in assessing the situation? It's utterly unacceptable. Even my broker, who boasts over 10 years of experience, admitted to never encountering such a situation before.
