Britannia Pool

This pool would be fantastic except they insist on setting up the lanes in a way that is unique. The lanes are set at double width grouping all swimming abilities into few lanes. This creates conflict and confusion in how to share lanes. Swimmers who are accustomed to standard lanes and swimming at a pace for exercising will find they are interrupted by others who are walking or treading water in the extra large lane. Flip turns become dangerous because there's no clear flow to the lanes. This could easily be solved by setting standard sized lanes, which would allow fast swimmers to group together in one lane, and slow swimmers to group in another. But instead the lifeguards here just tell faster swimmer that they should slow their pace, thus making the exercise value of swimming laps pointless. There's a reason lanes are standard widths everywhere else in the world, but here they seem to think they've found a better way. Oh well.

Great pool, hot tub, steam room and dry sauna in the change rooms.

Pool has lap swimming as well as random areas with diving board, plus a separate kids area. As well there's a hot tub and a steam room. Each changing area has a sauna. Pretty good overall, apart from the dirty floor and lack of functional lockers.

Bring your bike early or afternoon. Bring your lock and a reliable chain. Plenty of CCTV, community police all the time, security officers undercover and good citizens make this place safe for our children, women, special abilities people, First Nations, new immigrants, all who live in the neighborhood.

Men's sauna doesn't drain properly, smelly. Otherwise pool area is nothing special, has hot tub. Steam room is nice but a little small.

The main pool is comfortably separated for those swimming lengths and those of all ages there for a dip or casual/playful swimming.The jet pool holds about 12 people comfortably and is thoughtfully near the larger kiddy pool. In between is a stand-in rinse shower. Quite handy.The steam room at the other end of the pool also has a handy rinse - off shower next to it.I enjoyed my two hour stay by walking around the pool to access all of these'Stops'.Additionally,l was quite pleased to find an informative information board reminding me on various self-care techniques I could use at the pool and/or at home.The safety of all at the pool was assured by the well staffed lifeguards on hand.

Great overall facility. Sauna is very hot. The steam room is also very hot. The pool is clean and great temperature. The hot tub is a bit warm and not super hot. Lane swimming is great. Lanes are limited. They have bad scheduling and the pool is closed to public throughout the day for lessons so check the timings before you go there. The first day i went there somebody got their stuff stolen and i have had numerous people tell me they have a theft problem before. I dont take.any valuables inside. The crowd is the best in Vancouver in this community based pool which is a total bonus for me since i am super social.

Really great for a local pool. Well-maintained, clean and plays some tunes that you can enjoy as you swim. Always nice to see a mix of folks from the community enjoying the space. We're lucky to have it.

Not huge but organised, not too busy on a weekday morning and change rooms were clean.
