Batawa Ski Hill

This is a tough review. My family and I had a great time here. It is a cute little hill really suited for children and beginners. It is very small, but the lodge is nice and the rental equipment was above average. My complaint is with the staff. We went there on a day when it was not busy , there was a family of four ahead of us, and it took us over an hour to get 2 sets of gear and lift tickets. There was plenty of staff walking around, I politely asked if anyone else could help but was not successful. We are avid skiers, we know our boot and ski sizes. 20-30 minutes would have been acceptable. With only one family of four ahead of us it was infuriating waiting while our kids waited outside ready to go(they have their own gear) Ask any parent how much fun it is to get a 4 and 7 year old to wait patiently for over an hour while you stand there for no apparent reason.Hopefully this was a one off. But it was definitely not a great first impression.

It's a fun hill! A little small but perfect for beginners or someone that's trying to improve their ridding capabilities!

It is such a cute little spot for skiing. The staff is helpful and courteous. Being a first timer, I never felt out of place - thanks to lovely staff. We got learners pass which costs $50 per person in which we get 1h of training by trainer and 3h of unlimited skiing. It is not crowded unlike more famous ski spots and hence gives ample space to newbies. The restaurant/cafe is also good - both economically and taste-wise. They don't charge you more even when they can, considering only one option.

TLDR: Outstanding customer service, Clean facilities, messy slopes (in a good way) 10/10One of the nicest ski hills I’ve been to when taking everything into account. The inside is EXTREMELY clean, cleanest I’ve seen in a long time. On the other hand the hills get pretty carved up and so it can get messy but that’s the fun about shredding down the hill! Tried rentals (and snowboarding) for the first time and slapped on some rentals. After an hour of struggling and realizing it wasn’t for me I decided to switch back to good ol skis and Niko made the process simple and quick. Customer service wise everyone is extremely kind thoughtful and helpful when catering to the needs of the customer. Will definitely swing by again if I’m in the area.

I've lived in the area 40+ yrs without going to Bata ski hill. I've skied lot of other hills. Finally went last winter with daughter, I was very impressed, and disappointed I didn't come as a kid. They have fire pits outside, decent food, bar service. Hill has some variety between step and gentle runs. small terrain park area. It's great for what it is, a small hill with one chair lift in southern Ontario. Took a star off because they still sell tickets by morning or afternoon time slot. Kinda annoying now with no restrictions.

Great local hill. Amazing staff. GerardAnd Natalie helped my young daughter overcome frustration from falling and turns a 6 year old frustration-crying meltdown into smiles and laughter and being proud of herself.Now she loves skiing.

I love this ski hill. The perfect motto little hill big heart staff are always super happy and friendly. The ski school instructors for my kids were phenomenal this year hats off to Selma!!

Skill hill tucked inside the town/country. Three high slopes in the middle, one for tricks and one baby slope moderately high for beginners. They have a small facility not comparable to Blue Mountain. Tons of kids around. Cute little place. My kids enjoyed it.
