I personally lived there and I had a fun time the owner is amazing person once u get to know her(joy). She opens her heart to the world these troubled young adults are violent under the influence usally and no one will take them in she has a cleaning staff that comes once a week we're all adults here shouldn't have to clean up after them there pigs as for toilet paper that's a joke who ever posted that there all lies and google should take them off as well as hiding behind your name come forward and show your face. The food is switched up every week ideas are welcome honesty is the best route. I had a blast helping out around the house I still volunteer over there to this day and help joy out when she needs it I have alot of respect for joy the owner what she's gotta put up with she's a strong women.I will ask people come forward and tell the truth just because there mad because of eviction breaking house rules no need to post lies about the ark.

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. As a support worker I am appalled from what I hear from the tenants of this place when I spoke to some of them recently at the St. Johns soup kitchen nearby. It is filthy and rarely properly cleaned. The toilet paper is strongly rationed and no soap at the sink. The owner, they feel is deliberately keeps the main floor dining area cold, dark, and uninviting so that the tenants go to the nearby soup kitchen for both breakfast and lunch hence saving the owner money. The food that does get served is minimal, poor quality and highly rationed. The same cheap cereal with a small amount of milk, or coffee and toast for breakfast. Pancakes or bacon and eggs maybe twice a month. Lunch and dinner are almost exactly the same everyday and consists of hotdogs, Jamaican patties and pizza pockets. All food that's microwaved on an individual basis and only when requested. There are eighteen rooms in this house and each tenant is paying $1,000+ a month so imagine the profit. This place is supposed to be a refuge and a help for those that are marginalized but they feel very neglected and exploited. All the tenants are on some type of government support, mostly ODSP(Ontario Disability Support Program). After The Ark is paid, there is very little left over money for extras so they are forced to beg. I don't think that this institution is supposed to be to make someone great amounts of profit at the expense of the poor and unfortunate. Can others leave a review and advise who oversees this place so these issues can be addressed?

Worked for a week......there is little to no support for the residents. Not enough staff because that would mean actually paying to make sure residents get the proper care. They require staff to stay overnight on weekends. No security measures. (Outside of call the cops if something goes arise)no security staff. As an employee you are an all in one. Janitor, p.s.w, rec coordinator, chef.some of the residents get basically abandoned in the depths of the basement. No real dietary necessities for those residents. (I had to make vegan food for 1 resident it was the same thing over and over again cuz that's all they had for them)minimalist as possible make a big soup for the residents and remake w.e is left over the next day....close this down or have new people take over this dump and actually assist .
