VESTA GRILL & KOREAN CUISINE
Came here tonight for dinner at around 7pm after seeing the 4.4 stars rating. When I walked in I knew that something was off because the place was dead empty, there was only one other table eating. Very rare for this to happen for a restaurant of such high rating, especially at dinner time on a friday night. I guess the owner him/herself knew this as well because there seemed to be only two staff members working: the waitress and the cook (may be the owner). We ordered a plate of chicken and a sausage hotpot soup. For $27 the quantity of the chicken was on the smaller end, considering that most of the pieces were tiny and mostly flour. The taste was very average and nothing spectacular like how many of the reviews suggested. Dissapointing.Moving on what was even worse was the sausage hotpot soup. Whatever you do, do NOT get this item. Just take a look at my picture and judge for yourself. $15 for a couple slices of spam and sausage, tofu, a slice of cheese, and kimchi. The item was basically 80% all soup, 20% ingredients. Whats worse is that the soup itself wasn't all that great either.I guess the best thing I ordered tonight was the bowl of rice for $1.50.For a bill of around $50, the quality and quantity of food is definately lacking. I would recommend that if you want korean fried chicken in Coquitlam, go to OZ instead.Theres a reason why no one goes here. Not shade, just facts.

Over the years, Vesta has become our go to place for Korean food. They don’t have everything we love about Korean food, but everything they have is the best version we have tried so far. Our favorites are the spicy pork with veggies, seafood tofu soup, stir fried chicken with soy sauce, kimchi fried rice, chive pancake and all versions of the cold noodle dish. And the most mouth watering spicy octopus with noodles is not just a dish but an experience worth sharing. Most of their negative reviews were not about the food but the tipping, but come on, a tip less than 15% is an insult to the quality of food and the same people working there every day. Like most Korean restaurants, there is a bell on the table for service calls. We never had any problem getting the service or food using the bell. Please respect their way of doing business and leave your negativity outside the door.

If you know it's a bar in a Korean neighborhood, it's just that atmosphere. Food comes out quickly and neatly. I was explained that I could only eat and drink for 2 hours due to space issues. If there is no wait.. I don't know :) Great place to have a drink or have a first stop. I went with my family and the kids ate well. Note that there are many types. We ordered and ate two bomb-like steamed eggs.

This is one of my favorite Korea restaurants in Vancouver for sure. The food is good the pricy is reasonable and then the owner of this restaurant is super super nice. Defs worth to go there again and again.

Tried the food for the first time tonight. The fried chicken is good as well as the pork trotter. Overall we were pleased with the portions and the taste of the food.Unfortunately, what ruined our evening there was a server who, at the end of the dinner, noticed that we had not tipped over 15%. She then proceeded to call us out and tell us we should have tipped more and to do so for next time. Yet we were only a party of 4 (it's a small restaurant) and there was no indication that this was a policy at the restaurant. The service was not very good as we never got asked if we needed refills of side dishes or water, nor did she stop by our table to check on how we were doing or how the food was. She also didn't smile very much so... yeah. Next time you ask for a larger tip, perhaps consider providing better service to your customers. Especially when we are sitting right in front of the kitchen. She wasn't unpleasant, but calling out your customers for a tip, which is up to the customer, is pretty poor practice.Likely won't be coming back due to some poor customer service.Edit - looks like another table who were there at the same time as us also got called out, this time for not tipping at all.

Good food, good service. They won’t disappoint us with their service, and food is mostly delicious. One thing is that in the fried chicken.. there are almost no chicken. It’s just oil, and flour (fried). I understand chicken is expensive, but I hope they improve this. Good place to eat!

New owners, updated menu: Mostly large dishes ($20+), for sharing; mainly Korean fried chicken. New rustic ecclectic decor, more dividers to separate sections but feels smaller. The food was decent, but nothing stood out.Open late (midnight!). Not veg friendly. Good service.

Originally from Korea and saw some diverse ratings about this restaurant and wanted to check it out. I was very impressed with the food; the portion, authentic taste, with drinks were a perfect combination. The service was really good. Food came out at a perfect time, and the vibe in this restaurant is amazing, ran just like a korean restaurant.10/10 recommend
