Master Nails & Skin Care

I came back to Master Nails after 10 years, and unfortunately I remembered why I haven’t been back since. I came in for a shellac pedicure and specifically asked for the price a few times over the phone. However, when I went to the front desk to pay, they lied about their price and I paid extra for a very messy job. The lady who did my nails was really nice though so I tipped her for that, but I would just be careful when paying here. It wasn’t an honest business practice.

I went here for a last minute appointment for acrylics. The place is clean and people were nice. I usually hate getting my nails done because it takes so long, but I was in and out in 45 min. For that reason alone I will go back.Shaping and overall look of nails was ok, not amazing, but definitely better than a lot of places.

I had my nails done at Master Nails today. I normally go to M&D in Pickering but decided to switch it up..... I completely regret my decision. The girl who did my nails appeared to be in a rush, gave me a new set of gel nails in 30 mins, if that. She didn’t “manicure” my nails at all...... prior to putting on the gel, she didn’t push my cuticles back or clean up my nails at all. When the gel was on, she didn’t check to see if they were all straight, there was an extreme lack of attention to detail and therefore, I went home with a few crooked nails. She checked her phone multiple times during my service and did not treat me like a customer at all. If you’re reading this... spare yourself and go to M&D spa, prices are great, and they care about their customers

Nice salon with friendly staff. I did the gel dip and I absolutely love it! Priced well and quality service! I would def recommend!

I was really excited to try this place but unfortunately it didn't hit the mark for me.I called ahead at 5pm to see if they could take me at 6pm. The lady who answered was not very polite.I asked how much it would be if I did Shellac Manicure and Regular Pedicure she said $53, to which I told her I called 1 month earlier and the price was $45They have about 6 manicure stations which were all pretty busy. They also have 5 pedicure stations at the back ( which are bit old and rusted) Everywhere around the these stations are also very cluttered, lots of boxes and supplies.The pedicure service was just okkk,- They didn't buff or shave my heels- They did use an exfoliating gel, which I've never really seen before.- They didn't do any kind of massage but they did put a hot towel in your feet.The Manicure service was also not that impressive;- They didn't soak my hand at all, but instead she asked me to go over to the sink and wash my hands twice.- She used a cordless sander to file my nails but wasn't very careful and scraped my skin- Lastly, the colour selection for both regular polish and gel polish wasn't that great.Highly doubtful I would return to this place.They do offer a 10% off discount if you pay in cash

Will never return to this place. Rushed and nailpolish came off the next day. Booked appointment but they did not take me in time and was very rushed was going to just put colour without doing a manicure. Previous time they did a better job, but very dissapointed this time wish I could ask for my money back. I will never return here and do not recommend it.

Health alert: Avoid at all costs — I got an infection from here . A few weeks ago I went in to do my birthday nails. They did a beautiful job on the finger nails, but things went south with my pedicure. I left the shop with a sore foot but assumed that the spa attendant had just been rough, and that’s why my foot hurt. I wish that was the case; the next day I woke up at 5:00 am because my right toe had a pulsing pain, so my dad took me to an emergency clinic. The doctor informed me that I had an infection in my cuticle “likely from a dirty tool. “ She then put me on antibiotics for 10 days - my foot continued to pain me for about 6 days but thank goodness I recovered as things could’ve been worse if the infection spread. I called the spa and one of the supervisors picked up. I told her I had gotten an infection and her response was “ Come by the shop, I can give you some drops. ” This makes me think this has happened before. Please stay safe, folks !

The staff and owner are extremely friendly and they make you feel like family."The above review was written 5 years ago. I felt that I needed to add to the original post as my daughter still frequents here. Tracey (the owner) and her staff are wonderful. Tina who use to be my technician has always been extremely talented and her work has been unquestionable over the years. My daughter has since pushed me aside and insists that Tina does her nails. She researches designs and then expects Tina to replicate it. I have to admit that my daughter is never disappointed and Tina manages to exceed my daughter's expectations. People are forever stopping my daughter and asking her who does her nails because of the elaborate and skilled designs. The work is performed at such a high level that even when it should be looking shabby it stands up to the test of time. We have taken so many family and friends there and would highly recommend Master Nails. When we have visited with groups Kerry has performed her artistic talents as well."

Did my shellac mani/pedi with Tracy and it was amazing. On time and excellent service This is my new go to for nails and will be recommending to family and friends

Amazing service ! Went here for the first time and was hesitant as it was busy and I was a bit nervous with so many people being around … last year I got toeextensions and ended up loosing two nails I haven’t been for a pedicure since I knew my feet were in horrible shape and not once did they make me feel ashamed or embarrassed I walked out of there feeling like a brand new woman my feet look and feel amazing !! 1000%will be coming back.. ohh and the massage 10 stars
