Great selection of supplies and friendly and knowledgeable staff. I enjoy taking my puppy here for treats and supplies. However, I really wish the store would open a grooming salon. There are no commerical grooming salons in the area and I am tired of bringing my dog to 'at-home' grooming salons where the groomers are psuedo qualified to groom your dog, are not knowleable on the types of grooming techniques and at best- do mediore grooming job because they have no competition in the area and don't care about quality of service. I think a lot of people in the area would rather bring their dog to be groomed at a legit licensed grooming facility at the pet store. Having lived in major cities and the option to bring my dog to nearby dog salons and daycares is what I miss the most. My do has not had a nice groom since we moved here. Dear Total Pet - PLEASE consider opening a grooming salon at your location. SO many people would appreciate it. I've had this conversation with others in my area who find it a struggle to find a decent groomer in the area.

Its a good place to get your regular animal stuff but when it come to reptiles it's really lacking even for the ones they sell in store. I've had to buy most of the reptile products online just because they dont carry it(essential products for that animal). Staff is amazing and super helpful.

Was treated extremely rudely by the manager. For the past decade, I have operated a successful dog boarding and training business in Smithers, and would not consider speaking to anyone, let alone a customer in such a disrespectful manner. Will not set foot in Total Pet Smithers again. As a previous post mentions...ABYSMAL behavior from the manager. If I employed someone with that attitude, they would be gone.

Special ordered two female chinchillas. Prepaid. When they came in, only one was female. We waited for a month and upon inquiry were told they cannot tell us when or if they can get one. I reflected a few days on phoning them and asking for my money back, but just before I did that, I received a call that 'we have your Chinchilla'. I told the employee I had waited too long, integrating the two would now be difficult and we very likely would not take it. After that I received an angry call from the manager on voicemail, and upon returning the call a day later she was verbally abusive and absolutely unwilling to resolve the situation. She now has my money and makes a double profit on an animal. Very bad business practice and terrible way to treat customers, I will not recommend this business to anyone.

bought a 200$ cat climbing stand, it came with faulty threading, they refuse to give me a new one and even accused me that it was my doing do to using the wrong hole. I had professional take a look and the threading goes the same way on both sides but the one side had seemed to be only half of the threading on one side. might take some legal actions. Upon furthur insepection i realized lots of others have had issues with the manager (who was the one who decided not to give me a refunded for thier fualty merchandise) i am gonna call the owner tomorrow and give them the ultimatum of lawsuite or reimbursement plus the firing of the manager.

I love this store. Such lovely staff and always a large variety of animals :) Recently purchased a hedgehog and they were really helpful with setting us up with what we needed for him!

A well-stocked store with some really good items for dogs. Great location on Main Street.

Great employees, standart total pet merchandise, ABYSMAL behavior from the manager. I will be paying the extra money to order my supplies online so I do not have to support that woman.UPDATE*Was going to give these guys another chance as my local pet store did not have what I needed and I did not want to wait for an order to come in. When I got here (hour drive for me) they apparently decided they wanted a day off so they printed a sign off the computer put it on the door and closed the store over an hour before they're supposed to close. Definitely never recommending or using this location ever again worst Total Pet ever.

Very friendly and helpful. Knowledgeable staff who made suggestions when I wasn't sure of the product I needed. A pleasant visit to the store and nice to see they are practices safe distance protocol.
