Miramichi Senior Citizens Home

It has taken me a couple of years to really come to terms with what has happened to my Grandparents while under the care of the Miramichi Senior Citizens Home. While not all of the employees who work there are under the spell of Dr.Kris, the vast majority of them are. Whether it is for fears of speaking out against the neglect or Elderly Abuse that goes on in this establishment, or for simply they have no heart, either way....the lack of care in this facility especially in the Ward that my Grandparents were in is sickening.My Grandfather passed away December 12, 2011...from what we can only assume was old age. My Grandmother however, that is a totally different story. She was constantly trying to reach out to us and tell us that things were not right there. She had fallen, nurses changed her story. See they claimed she had dementia...not the case. She knew exactly what was going on. Not only did they change her story, but had also threatened my Mother (Dr. Kris did) that if my mother were to sign her out at Christmas for 2 weeks (which under admission into the home, we were told she could be signed in and out) then he would call Social Services and claim neglect and abuse. On top of that, my mother was told that my Grandmother would not be permitted back into the nursing home and that she would have to be put back on the wait list. So, for sheer fact of being threatened and fear, my mother decided against bringing my Gram home for the holidays. This devastated both of them. 2 weeks later, my Grandmother was found dead in her bed. Upon fighting for her medical records, we were appalled by what was found in them. Not only were they fabricated, but there were things on them that my mother was unaware of (My mom being not only next of kin but also power of attorney). They had her on 2 (if not 3) DIFFERENT Antipsychotic medications, 2 DIFFERENT anti-depressant medications, blood thinners, blood pressure, DILAUDID, Tylenol...you name it, she was pumped full of it. She literally had enough medications in her system on a daily basis to Sedate a horse". This all started AFTER my Grandfather passed away. They knew she would speak out
