Matt and his family are absolutely amazing people; they are empathetic, sincere, good hearted and kind. These qualities are absolutely necessary for the profession that they have chosen, and they shine through with a warmth that I’m sure everyone using their service enjoys! Wow! What can I say?! The recent sudden loss of my mom was devastating, of course, and the particularities concerning getting her 500km’s up north to her final resting place with my father left me anxious even before her passing. Matt not only reassured me that that would be easily taken care of by his team, he delivered in a way that left me and my wife overcome with sincere gratitude. From the moment we spoke on the phone to my mom’s departure from Barrie, Matt was a paragon of sincerity and compassion. He was able to read my disposition easily and went along with some laughs and light-hearted quips that helped me tremendously through what was supposed to be a daunting task! I simply could not recommend him and his services more highly. We so appreciate the way you made us feel, Matt. See you at a later time about those “gag golf balls”! ;)

At a time when it was the hardest to make decision and organize anything Matt and his team came in and not only took care of the organizing but made us feel heard, understood, and that it was going to be ok. He was professional and yet incredibly caring right from the first call and listened to what was important to us in honouring my Dad. Matt and his staff did an incredible job looking after our family. We had a bit of an unusual request. We wanted to perform three (3) internments together. Matt was instrumental in getting us special permission to perform the celebration of Life on the cemetery grounds. The first time this was every done. Matt organized an appropriate officiant, setup a tent, catering and oversaw the service from beginning to end. I first met Matt while planning my mom's service several years ago. During the most difficult time, he was so helpful and accommodating. He made sure all of my requests were done to my liking and carried us through those first few days. Fast forward several months after my mom's service, my father and I attended a viewing for a family friend. Matt was facilitating the service that day. He recognized us and remembered us both by name and came over to chat with us - it's been over 5 years and that act of kindness still resonates with me.Recently my husband and I experienced the devastating loss of our daughters. A friend reached out to Matt to see if he could help us with the arrangements, and after several years he still remembered my family. When I spoke to him, you could feel his genuine compassion, sympathy and desire to help. He took of everything for us, made sure we had the time we needed with them and made us feel as comfortable as possible during our worst days.I will forever recommend Matt & his team. Legacy funeral home is beautifully done, with everything you'd possibly need. There is truly no one better we could have had supporting us during the hardest days and we are so grateful.
