James installed potlights in my basement. He was quick to set up a date, followed up to make sure we were still on, showed up punctually, did excellent work while inviting me to check in on what he's planning and was a delight A-Z. He's got my call the next time I need anything electrical.The basement lighting was upgraded from 7 florescent tube light boxes across the basement, to 17 LED potlights. The lights he installed have 3 temperature (colour) control settings from 5K white light through to Sunlight. This created a lot of flexibility in how I can have the basement feel. He worked quickly and quietly and I am very pleased with the quality of the work he did.It feels so much brighter and welcoming!

I have had the pleasure of dealing with Jim Barrett owner of Barrett Electric Inc. on a few occasions now. Jim is a pleasant, professional and an extremely efficient electrician. Jim came to install an EV charger and he was able install it into the older model existing electric panel because somehow he managed to find the parts for it. He did an excellent job. I highly recommend this company for any of your electrical issues.

Jim installed an EV level 2 charger for my new EV. The whole experience was excellent. His estimate has no hidden costs and was one of the best prices. I shopped around and his quote could not be beaten. Today Jim installed the 240 plug and I was impressed how clean and quick he was. There were no unnecessary holes in the drywall and he was sure to clean up any mess!I look forward to hiring him again for future projects!

We had 2 outdoor outlets and one inside outlet installed. Jim responded quickly to our request for a quote. He visited our home, made sure he understood what we wanted, and explained what he would require from us to allow him to do the work. He arrived as promised and immediately got to work. When he was finished, all work areas had been cleaned up (he has a neat portable vacuum) and all scrap material picked up. He made sure I was aware of how the breakers worked, including the reset process. Price was more than fair for the scope of the work performed. I would not hesitate to use Jim again if additional electrical work is needed.

We had Jim/ Dave over here to install pot lights in our house today. Called James about 2 months ago for an EV charger installation quote. He came by the same week and looked at everything and presented me with all the options. The delivery of my EV initially got delayed so I had to ask James to hold off for the time being and he was very understanding and responsive. Fast forward to the day I'm posting this review, my EV was suddenly ready for delivery the following week. I now needed the installation done urgently. Texted James and explained the situation to him. He made time the next day and completed the install. Couldn't have asked for more. 5/5 would recommend.

James did an excellent job running a feed, installing a panel, and installing some conduit/outlets in our garage. He quoted promptly, showed up when he said he would, and got the job done - and it works and looks great.The ESB inspector's comment was, I know this guy

The only electrician you will need to call. Courteous, professional and honest. Showed up on time for the quote, day of scheduled work. Completed with care and took time to consider our needs moving forward. Due to the work being performed there were other agencies involved and that was all taken care of. This is now my preferred contractor for electrical. Thank you for your work.

Installed kitchen pot lights. Jim was excellent. Was very professional. He took his time and was focused on getting the pot lights perfectly aligned. No mess either. He's our go to electrician going forward for sure.Update 4 months later..My daughter just bought an older house with aluminium wiring that had not been brought up to code for safety and insurance purposes. Jim responded quickly and professionally. He changed every switch and outlet in the house, disconnected some old wall sconces, installed numerous pot lights and other light fixtures and even replaced the exhaust fan in the main bathroom. This was as major job done under a tight deadline before she moved in. The work was professional and tidy and priced reasonably. Highly recommended again.Update mar 23Jim installed a hardwired Ev charger on the wall outside my daughters house. As always, Jim was meticulous and professional. Everything was done to code and the results were solid and straight. Very reasonable price too considering the quality of the job and materials. Great guy!
