Pioneer Transmission

Took my car in because it was shaking and misfiring. Frank seemed very helpful at first. He called the same day and let me know that he replaced my ignition coil and that the car was running again. I live down the street from the shop so I didn’t take it for a test drive other than to my parking lot. Frank said he took my car out for a test drive, and blamed the continued shaking of my car on it’s computer getting used to the new coil, but that the car would be fine.The next day, my car was still misfiring and shaking even harder. Luckily, I took it to my in-laws who have a garage and it turns out there was nothing wrong with my ignition coils. Not only that, but the new coil hadn’t been dabbed with grease and was the lowest quality tier. The mechanic at my in-laws pulled it out and said he wouldn’t give out parts like it for free. In fact, the original coil was in better condition/quality and the mechanic put the original coil back into the car, and gave me back the new one and told me to throw it away.Turns out, it was the spark plugs causing the misfire, not the coils. I am extremely disappointed because it takes less than 2 minutes to check the spark plugs (which are immediately accessible when the coil is taken out). The spark plugs were very obviously burned out.Frank charged me $330 to change a part that was not broken, and didn’t fix the problem. Never said anything about spark plugs. Either there are bad mechanics working there who don’t check their clients vehicles properly, or this was sheer laziness and they don’t care at all. I can’t imagine why spark plugs wouldn’t be checked for an engine misfire when these generally burn out long before the ignition coils.Either way, I will never recommend anyone to do business with this shop.

Ever!!I am so thankful for Frank!I came in with an issue with my car; it was so difficult to shift into gear, I had been to several places and was advised it was my clutch...a $2000+ job....I was skeptical and I went to Frank to have it checked. Within 2 minutes Frank drove my car, and found the issue...it was my floor mat interfering with my clutch. Pioneer transmission has been a staple in Guelph for several years now. I have personally taken several cars there for transmission service. I would recommend it to anyone!
