We've been camping at Pachena Bay for a few years and every time we leave we are already planning our next trip back. Amazing people, beaches and environment.

Amazing campground. Absolutely gorgeous and mysterious beach that disappears in rolling fogs on certain days. Found bones and lots of other cool stuff exploring the beach. Best camping experience in a while, will definitely be back.Keep in mind the drive out there can be quite rough. You will need 4WD.

So very grateful to the Huu-ay-aht Nation for making this incredible place accessible to us; the campground was beautiful and well taken care of, as we’re we :)We look forward to visiting again!

Absolutely stunning beauty! Seen so many animals! Seen bears across the river every morning! Will be back next year! A bit of drive in very rough roads must plan to drive slow, but this keeps too many people coming here

On the plus side... It's a pretty campground and not at all crowded, because few people are willing to drive for two hours on a bumpy dirt road, which is what you need to do to get there. (The directions given by Google maps failed to mention that rather important fact.)On the minus side... The men's showers were infested with large areas of what appeared to be black mold. Very disgusting.

Beautiful beach and nicely laid out campground. Friendly staff (when they feel like showing up to the office haha) maintenance is an issue two out of three showers were out and the third had a broken hose and was stuck on full hot. The sewer hookup for the (full) service site was a two foot pipe stuck in the ground leading no where. Pretty shocking when you open the sewer line on the RV, and leading to quite the clean up. Checked the other (full) service sites and it's the same. Lots of surprised people haha

I've stayed at a ton of campgrounds, this place is absolutely amazing. Massive beach, some small tide pools, great trails near by. 100% great and would come back. Staff were great as well, and even the sited off the beach all looked super great. To the reviews saying 4 wheel drive is needed to make it in - as of July 8th I made it it with a 30 ft rv with a 4ft bike trailer on the back, didn't bottom out at any point. That being said, it was so washboarded I lost 2 hubcaps and had to tighten a few things when stopping. Had bikes covered, but didn't matter. That's what you get with 82km of logging road.Still worth it even with the hard drive in. Drove from Minneapolis to here, and would do it again!

Getting there was... Eventful. Once we got there, we understood why this campground and beach was on the list of best beaches. More spectacular than Tofino with a tenth of the people. It was simply majestic! The campground is well provisioned with powered sites, oceanfront sites and the more standard tenting sites. Would recommend!

I can say with confidence that this is one of the best campsites I’ve stayed in! The premium sites are completely worth it. There’s nothing quite like taking your morning coffee on the beach after only a few steps from your picnic table. The camp hosts were also very friendly and went above and beyond. We arrived at a time when the campfire ban had lifted, and we called to buy some firewood from a local supplier. Unfortunately, the supplier wasn’t feeling well and weren’t going to be able to make a delivery. The camp host quickly volunteered to go get us a bin of wood from the supplier, which we were very grateful for on those chilly, damp Fall evenings! Having access to flush toilets and running water was also such a nice luxury! They also get my vote for one of the best “bear aware” warnings I’ve read on a sign :) Thank you for a lovely stay!As others have said, the road to Bamfield is long and rough, but is a well-maintained logging road. It would passable in pretty much any kind of vehicle if you take it easy.
