I went to the emergency department around 2am today. When I arrived there was only patient before me and by the time I reported and checked up my bp, I was the only one patient over there. I waited till 3:45am and for the whole time I was the only one patient. I am providing you the scenario so that you could understand what my concern is. So the whole time no new patient reported for treatment and no waiting patients before me. You can talk about manpower shortages for so many other situations but what could be the excuse this time? At least I didn’t get it. I tried to think all other possibilities but during this 1 hour 45 minutes ( you might think it is very short waiting time but please consider that I was the only person they had to deal with and after that time I just left) no one even came for blood work. So what do you think? If there were 20 patients arrived at that precise time period, all of those patients had to wait without being provided any medical attention? Is this our medical system now? Or this is just an excuse. What I have encountered, I believe there was necessarily no reason they could use as manpower shortage. They only answer I am convinced is that they are using overused and already believed excuses in public mind to justify their laziness or unwillingness. I don’t know the proper way to ask for investigation into this situation but I would like to inform the higher authority that they should investigate the authenticity of regular high waiting line.

Note: Just want to add that it’s a smaller hospital, so if they’re seeing a higher volume it means there isn’t a lot of sitting room and you may be left standing. It can also mean that staff are under a lot of pressure with urgent issues and waits are much longer which can be difficult if you’re in pain. Definitely look up the emergency wait times for hospitals in advance.Went early in the morning, chose to drive over to Delta based on the wait times of ER around me. Not many people, only waited perhaps an hour which was a bit over the minimal time stated and even with driving it ended up taking less time than if I had gone somewhere closer (Like 6-10 hour waits). I felt that they listened to me carefully, they provided painkillers to help with the intense pain I had and gave me the starting dose for the antibiotics I needed then instead of having to wait to get the prescription. They were easy to understand, made sure to use a bandaid after a shot and made sure I knew about dosages and gave clear instructions around the meds. Seems simple but shockingly it can be hit and miss these days with some hospitals over the most basic but important things based on my family's experiences so I appreciate how easy and straightforward everything was here.I would have gone to Urgent Care but it's become such a circus in terms of demand vs capacity now that if you are in severe pain and need to get on top of a worsening infection it's just better to go to where you will get help soonest as depending on where you are and what time it is the Urgent Care facilities are as bad as Walk In Clinics requiring appointments to be helped, where for walking in you can be turned away to go to ER anyway. I've had my family sent in circles because of them, things are just so bad these days. I'm so grateful I could go here and prevent this from going downhill fast.

Had gastroscopy and colonoscopy first time today. The nurses, anaesthetist, and doctor were 100% stellar, amazing, and wonderful! It could not have been better, they made me feel SO incredibly comfortable even with my high anxiety. I feel so very blessed and just want everyone to know how great this hospital is. It’s so clean, organized, and every staff member (from registration to help desk to janitorial, etc) were the most friendly and welcoming and helpful. To be seen, heard, and smiled at makes the biggest difference for scared and sick patients. So thank you Delta hospital, from the bottom of my heart!

I just spent 8 hours waiting in emergency. At the 6th hour I asked for an update. I needed help and was pushed aside for flu symptoms, cuts, X-rays, etc. everyone that arrived before me and at least 20 people after me were helped. Delta Hospital failed to recognize mental health tonight. At 12:30am a nurse brought in another patient that arrived hours after me. I didn’t even make it out of the initial waiting area. I am a 40 year South Delta resident. I am so disappointed with the Delta Hospital. Please feel free to contact me and explain why this happened.

Really bad staff. I went in at 5pm and wasn’t attended to till 10:30 pm. My sister on the other hand wasn’t attended to at all. The staff at registration was super rude and unhelpful, although the nurses and doctors were really nice. What is the point of being in the ER of my emergency isn’t even taken seriously

It’s been about 4 hours and we’ve been sitting in the outer waiting area… my bf is suffering from chronic back pain,, and nurses just handed him pain killers. I completely understand the staff shortage however the least delta ER staff can do is show some compassion towards patients and hear them properly!

Hi I took my granddaughter to emergency as she fell a few feet and hit her head and had fainted. Her neck was sore so the put her in a neck brace on a hard board to ensure she was safe.. they were amazing from beginning to end.. thank to all the staff

Donot come here even if you are dying. They do not care at all. You will be told to wait for another 8hrs after already waiting for 8hrs. Canadas health system is messed up. Emergency room is just a joke when u have to wait for 16 hrs to get checked. The thing that bothered me the most was when i was waiting for that long they were checking people who came after me and i do understand some people might be facing some serious health issues but people should be treated at even times.
